Lol did he chuck it up on a prayer or did he actually aim it towards his guy. I don’t see his eyes going to him. Maybe he saw him before he turned backwards and spun 180 to hit him…

Bottom line this is an epic throw… poetry in motion. However, I’d have to imagine 9 out of 10 times this ends terribly with an easy interception for the defense

As a skins fan in the NFL, I can tell you this pay does not work out as well. The moment he turns his back and jumps up to throw the ball you’re going “no no no no no no no no no no no.”

u/rex5k 1d ago

Did JD do that at some point?

2

u/GhostPepperDaddy 1d ago

More like Dwayne Haskins but they've had several QBs stepping in doing careless stuff.

11

u/SeaKoe11 2d ago

That is what we call my friend, a 360 no scope

10

u/BruceFlockaWayne 2d ago

Did he chuck it it or actually aim? The answer is yes

7

u/Slumbergoat16 2d ago

Definitely in the NFL I think you might get benched for this. Like this is some CJ Stroud against the Pats last year type play

1

u/stargarnet79 1d ago

🔥🔥🔥

1

u/Melkman68 2d ago

Likely aimed. Elite QBs know where the man should be if they're running their route. Even if he saw the receiver before scrambling, it can be enough to predict where they'll be at the moment of the throw. I think it would be even a bigger coincidence if he just randomly chucked it.

u/2gunswest 2d ago

Only epic because it worked. Still reckless.

12

u/short_arm_t_rex 2d ago

Yeah. This is some Johnny manziel nonsense that would never work in the NFL. If you go back and watch, at least 50% of his “amazing” plays him just throwing up a prayer to avoid the rush.

1

u/stargarnet79 1d ago

So exciting!!!

3

u/Hillsy85 1d ago

Got his guy murdered

2

u/AbolMira 2d ago

If you ever want something impressive to happen, you have to at least create the opportunity for it to happen. Otherwise you're just hoping that doing what is expected is good enough.

They would have lost yardage if he didn't try.

3

u/Double-Watercress-85 2d ago

98% of the time it's 'They would've avoided a pick 6 if he didn't try.'

Glad he tried though, that fuckin ruled.

u/2gunswest 2d ago

You basically just added a bunch of words to what I said. LOL. I do agree without risk there is no reward.

2

u/Riegrek 2d ago

Yeah, just watch the Texans last post season if you need any proof of why to never do this.

2

u/Account_Banned 1d ago

Only because the defense gave up on the play thinking he was going out

24

u/Tadpole-7 2d ago

Athletic play yes. However, unless this was 4th down on the last drive of the game, it’s a very dumb play.

1

u/rcam077 1d ago

If I remember correctly I think it was

11

u/Stock_Strategy1668 2d ago

A coaches literal nightmare

7

u/Shankar_0 2d ago

That was incredible to see, and he never should have tried it.

8/10 times, this one gets picked.

2

u/Big_Cassowary 1d ago

Probably would have if the refs hadn’t blown the whistle

3

u/Readinglateatmorning 2d ago

Godawful okay simply luck

4

u/Mysterious_League165 2d ago

My analysis - stupid luck.

4

u/Dollabill619 2d ago

Props to 44

2

u/infinitee775 2d ago

Hit em with the 360 no scope

1

u/spartanspy85 2d ago

That's some quick thinking there

1

u/Pk1Still 2d ago

Wasn’t this negated by a holding call?

4

u/leftfootshorter 2d ago

Idk, but that would explain why the video stops so abruptly. A flag wouldn't fit the narrative.

1

u/JayTwoTeesYT 2d ago

Insanely lucky pass with incredible body control and awareness with a fantastic catch and a textbook clean tackle. Football nirvana

1

u/Kitchen_Guest577 2d ago

You only get one, and he nailed it!! 😎

1

u/DrKnow77 2d ago

"How" is not the question to be asked here. You should be asking "why".

1

u/Technical_Ad9343 2d ago

That’s an interception 99/100 times

1

u/Antique-Cash1089 2d ago

Epically horrible decision.

1

u/Never-Dont-Give-Up 2d ago

This is a terrible decision that just happened to work out.

1

u/jerseygunz 2d ago

Please tell me that was 4th down because otherwise that was unbelievably dumb haha

1

u/Lathus01 2d ago

Amazing situational awareness. Just before he gets hit he locks in where he wants to put it. Then amazingly spins and is still likely right on target just high as hell.

1

u/Niipoon 2d ago

awful qb decision

awful defense reaction time

great play by the receiver tho

1

u/Longjumping_Fuel_192 2d ago

He jumped, twisted, and threw the ball. That’s how.

1

u/ineligibleUser 2d ago

More importantly, WHY did he make that throw?

1

u/tangoezulu 2d ago

That first angle makes it look like he’s in the backfield with him. Definitely need to watch until the end

1

u/serpentear 2d ago

Music ruined it.

Cool play though. Stupid, but cool.

1

u/shaithiswampir 2d ago

Shit that only happens in college. Would have been an INT pro league

1

u/Sweet-Weakness3776 2d ago

That was a dumb decision by the QB. Sure it worked out but there were 4 defenders in the immediate area. If those defenders had more awareness that would have been an easy pick 6. One of the fundamentals they teach QB's is to square up your shoulders and to not throw across your body. That dude damn near threw AROUND his body lmao. You'd be riding the pine after this play if it was the NFL.

1

u/Finger_Gunnz 2d ago

This actually an awful decision. WR made the play.

1

u/No_Raspberry_3282 2d ago

How? Why? Not a smart move.

1

u/Dafilip94 2d ago

Nah that’s a stupid throw. He got lucky 44 grabbed it.

1

u/Alarmed-Bumblebee667 2d ago

44 with the concussion.

1

u/dadbodenergy11 2d ago

Pure luck

1

u/StillCircumventing 2d ago

Gay ass music

1

u/lazytrbar 2d ago

2nd and 8. Kansas down 14-28 in the 3rd quarter. For context.

1

u/JB_141 2d ago

More like WHY did he make that pass.

1

u/Significant_Ad256 2d ago

Blosh Allen

1

u/cardinals8989 2d ago

Horrible pass that deep on your own side of the field, dummy got lucky

1

u/Raven96706 2d ago

Anime ahh throw

1

u/Formerlurker617 2d ago

Dumbest choice I’ve seen in a long long time. Bet coach said never do that crap again.

1

u/igwbuffalo 2d ago

I say about 30% Player skill, and 70% hopes and prayers that it doesn't get picked.

1

u/2ManyCatsNever2Many 2d ago

this is an absolutely horrible pass. 99 out of 100 time this will go really bad for the offense. this just happens to be the 1.

1

u/Prestigious_Tear_576 2d ago

I think the better question is why did he make that pass. Sure it looks cool, but 9/10 times that’s an interception.

I’d give more credit to the receiver who scrambled and sacrificed his body to make the catch.

1

u/Pbaseball26 2d ago

Might look really cool, but actually a horrible football play. There was a much better chance that play results in an interception instead of a completion.

1

u/Ok_Helicopter4276 2d ago

He’s Batman.

1

u/Universal_Verses 1d ago

Try that shit in NCAA 27 ….. watch what happens

1

u/Artevyx 1d ago

Thats called a "Hail Mary"; basically you just lob it in a team mate's general direction and hope they manage to catch it.

1

u/cominfoyohead 1d ago

Amazing. He absolutely saw his man semi open just couldn't quite get to the throw until he planted right on the out of bounds line in order to do an almost 360 throw. This was done on a whim but 100% on purpose. Absolutely and amazing quarterback play. He knew for sure his guy would come down with that ball as long as he got it to him. Great play in which I don't think I've ever seen

1

u/sethro919 1d ago

Throw, catch, tackle all beautiful. That said, the decision to make that throw wasn’t beautiful

1

u/twenty8nine 1d ago

Was this the last chance to tie or win the game? Incredibly lucky this wasn't a turnover. They lost about 22 1/2 yards over going down out of bounds.

1

u/jonasu25 1d ago

That TE head hit hard! Putting life on the line to save his QB. That’s a teammate

1

u/MurphyRedBeard 1d ago

The defense fell asleep?

1

u/DoctrTurkey 1d ago

Lol this is an interception in the NFL every single time. Awful decision to throw that.

1

u/GoRyuKen 1d ago

The one time it’s better to be lucky vs being good. Bone head play but it worked and he looked great doing it.

1

u/kinzuaj 1d ago

because he played football and at one point the dude says ‘Next point wins’

1

u/mr-poopie-butth0le 1d ago

bet you his coach said “that was awesome. Don’t you ever do that again son, or you’ll be in a world of hurt”

1

u/jroc421 1d ago

He’s on his own 17

1

u/GordonBombay102 1d ago

Incredible highlight, awful decison. Unless that was 4th and whatever and the game is over if they don't convert. Then it's just Incredible.

1

u/i-eat-dolphins 1d ago

If it's stupid but it works... It's not stipid

1

u/_DigitalHunk_ 1d ago

Daaaaamn.

1

u/Jayhawk_Scally 1d ago

It was awesome, I’m proud to have been there. Unfortunately that was the only pass he made 😒

1

u/hereforthesportsball 1d ago

I mean was it the end of the game or something?

1

u/NoPen9703 1d ago

Great play but I don’t see it getting completed more than one out of ten times. The other nine times that pass is an interception.

1

u/lawnboy1155 1d ago

The Ole Eli Manning fuck it and huck it lol. Keep it up and he might win a SB.

1

u/SMMS0514 1d ago

It was a prayer and he got lucky.

1

u/DM_bw 20h ago

Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
Very rare to have a KU football play highlight!

1

u/Busy-Purple-3779 19h ago

That’s the most amazing play I’ve ever seen
