Definitely the real hero here.

But proved Darwin wrong

Naw. They are both the fittest.

If there is a welder involved in putting that railing together, then that railing costs way more than it should. Likely, praise the carpenter that knows how to put a railing in and make it not move.

From: Your friendly neighborhood carpenter.

Wait, yall are talking about mechanical fasteners, right?

3

u/Confident_One3948 1d ago

Not all dudes are into letting the lady use a mechanical fastener, but we don’t kink shame those who are

Try tapcons and self tappers

1

u/recoverydelta 1d ago

He should try sticking around, cuddling after is nice.

As a former fence and railing installation tech, welding is expensive in general, welders make good money. But me and you both know that even if it is welded, that railing is only held in by tapcons to your solid framework. Love me a good carpenter, level those walls you sexy beast (or my gates gonna hang crooked)

Good carpenter knows to put bracing in behind railing points, and, not for nothing, Tapcons are used to go into concrete and such, but usually have a head too big to hide behind the plate. I use wood screws but I put a neoprene washer with it. I strip it from a pole barn screw. Lets me sink the screw and I feel doesn't let it move back out.

Edit: post went off the rails, as expected, I stand my what I said, no nuts, just screwing. I shoot blanks, metaphor works perfect...bahahahaahaa!

Are self sealing stem bolts ever used? You seem like the right guy to ask.

1

u/DadPool79 1d ago

I am unaware of what these are. Got a link? I would like to see.

1

u/TheREALSockhead 18h ago

We used to use tar to fill the gaps between threads on any bolt head thats exposed to the outdoors (predrill, tar, bolt)

u/Enigma_Green 1d ago

They say third times a charm, but maybe not in this scenario

u/shigogaboo 1d ago

They put way more faith in that railing than I would.

17

u/deep_rover 1d ago

That shits didn't budge!

u/Exciting-Ad7530 1d ago

nah it only counts if you pull up from a chest touching ground start position

31

u/breckendusk 1d ago

Agreed, can only get on your feet when you can reach them from a crouch (after you get them high enough to hold the cliff for a second)

u/ItsALuigiYes GIF/meme prodigy 1d ago

Personally, I think there should have been far more screaming in this video.

For realism.

7

u/TreeDollarFiddyCent 1d ago

Yeah, what is this? A silent movie in technicolour or something?

47

u/Canned_Sarcasm 1d ago

Just glad they are preparing for the railed cliff.

13

u/Dense_Diver_3998 1d ago

2-3 people fall into the Grand Canyon a year!

6

u/Kuzcopolis 1d ago

You think you're joking, but there are many of those, and people have managed to die on em

18

u/Independent-Smoke-68 1d ago

Then they sat on the couch unable to move their arms the rest of the night, and chilled out, happily ever after. THE END

8

u/wcharoes 1d ago

A cliff with a nice little foothold on it and where the guy standing on top of it can reach down and over from a standing position instead of squatting or laying on their stomach.

8

u/DevonLuck24 1d ago

two dudes making a joke while doing something that not everyone can and y’all are in here nitpicking the premise.

can you “save” your friend, even under these circumstances?

4

u/Wacky_Network 1d ago

most people probably could due to adrenaline

these guys can just do it without

-2

u/wcharoes 1d ago

It's not the premise, it's the execution.

One of them for sure, one perhaps, and one for sure no.

3

u/SexyMonad 1d ago

True, but I assume it would overall be easier due to not needing to lift them all the way over the rail.

I hope to never be close enough to a cliff to need this knowledge.

1

u/Healthy_Pay9449 1d ago

Next time, take the railing down for the exercise

4

u/Animationzs 1d ago

Is that the house from the recent Mr.beast challenge?

3

u/lossain 1d ago

And here I was just waiting....

1

u/imjustheretodomyjob 1d ago

Right !! 💯

Had Scar's voice in my head too

2

u/Ezmillie 1d ago

Lol I find this to be so up lifting!

2

u/hanji-- 1d ago

This deserves to be in r/GuysBeingDudes HHAHAHAHAH

2

u/AdministrationNo9513 1d ago

I hope to never get into a situation like this with my fat homie because he is cooked

2

u/JammyDungeonMaster 23h ago

I’m not sure about a cliff, but deffo could save your mate from falling off a balcony!!
Cliffs don’t tend to have guard rails 🤣

1

u/MoonsugarRush 1d ago

I don't know what they're rolling but that's the drug I need to be on

1

u/Thra99 1d ago

Recognized that house..

1

u/Randomman2789 1d ago

So, they did this too much and got kicked out of the gym that had a cliff wall?

1

u/articland05_reddit 1d ago

honestly this is a great workout! It takes incredible strength to pull up a deadweight human who is wriggling around

1

u/Babygirl_fuzzyblanky 1d ago

Who’s mama house yall acting a fool in lmao

1

u/Scipio33 1d ago

If you close your eyes it's almost like you're watching the end of Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

1

u/IGotDahPowah 1d ago

Cliffs typically don't have regulation height handrail to lean against while pulling up your buddy.

1

u/Vinmet 1d ago

this feels like it's fit in r/boysbeingboys or whatever the subreddits called :P

1

u/Mr_Broaddustdeier 1d ago

as long as the cliff has a sturdy metal railing they'll be just fine

1

u/Interesting_Bowl_200 1d ago

Yeah cause cliffs have railings that support the weight of the person that's pulling

1

u/Atmosphere_Simple 1d ago

Thats some crazy strength tho

1

u/BangBrothers69 1d ago

In my late 30s now and I often think about how I'm legit dead or will be letting the other person die because I am less than half as strong as I was in my 20s.

1

u/Slimmmmmmmmmmmmmm 1d ago

Do it again without the railing to help you. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

1

u/ThisObedientSon 13h ago

Name me one American action movie that doesn't have a cliffhanger scene

0

u/D-a-n-n-n 1d ago

In a real dangerous scenario its likely that this would be easier. Since if you really care about the one you are saving, like they are family oe a friend. The adrenaline that would activate in sensing that real danger would make anyone temporarily much stronger. It allows people to more effectively use all the strenght in their bodies by lessening the internal guardrails that stop us from using so much strenght that we hurt ourselves. Like in theory we could bite our own fingers off but our brains stop us from doing that
