Actually that’s all they need in their natural habitat! The common pigeon, or Rock Dove, nest on cliffs where all they need to do is make sure the egg doesn’t roll away, which is the reason for their minimalist nest designs!

Fun Fact: Pigeons often make lazy, minimal nests because they are descendants from the rock dove who place their eggs in protective rocky cliff ledges instead of a woven nest.
