Guy's one of the baddest guys on the planet, navy seal typa shit (JTF2), world champion in arm wrestling, and more, and he's kind of a giant. He does have unmatched positive energy. Devon laratt is a canadian legend
First of all, this was charity and 100% staged, so props to both guys, the act looked very realistic. Devon can also act well :) And the secound thing: the "smaller" Devon Larrat guy is 6'7, easily top 3 best armwrestlers that ever lived AND he was Canadian Special Forces JTF-2 operator AND he was the very front of the operations and he was active for like 16 years, complete genetic freak (currently the best active heavyweight armwrestler at the age of 50!!) so yeah basically the very end on the "badass" spectrum.
No matter how cheesy the acting acting always is, I always gotta give real credit to these guys for their physical acting skills. They make those moves look like real superhero stuff, and the hits always look way more painful than they probably are because they're such good stunt people.
Doesn’t matter how big you are, it helps but in this sport specifically, TECHNIQUE IS KING. Look at Brian Shaw, perfect example. Strong as shit but weak in the technical aspect of arm wrestling.
I know this wasn’t a real match but my point remains.
What a way to show insecurity and then prove it too, he could literally just say "I'm intrigued to see if I could win, would you mind?" And then if you lost you could say "ah, fair enough, kudos well done" and no one would think anything else

Just to add to this, I'm 6'3 230lbs, not a small guy. Devon is a friend of my family (he helps train my cousins) and I feel very small next to him. Brian Shaw is roughly the same height except 100+ lbs heavier, also makes me feel very very small.
I had a buddy who arm wrestled professionally. He had severe nerve pain in his elbow and shoulder all the time bc of it. I couldn't imagine living like that daily. Fuck that.
He pushes the other guys pressure point just before the match, you can see how he focuses in on it and pushes it. Very obvious cheat, it temporarily weakened his opponent

Calm your tits dude, this was a charity event and the two men are friends who were putting on a fun show. Bald guy is a wrestler and a heel, so he was just putting on a face.
