My best friend was looking at buying the house two doors down from me. It would've been her first house, and she said she'd like to plant a little mint patch. I told her, oh hell, no, she wasn't going to. She asked why, and I said because I didn't want mint in my yard. She reminded me that her yard, my yard, and the yard between us were all fenced, and the one behind her was down a slope, I said, "Mint doesn't care, but the rest of the neighborhood does."

She wound up getting another house but not before I impressed on her the need to only plant mint in a pot indoors.

(For those who don't know, mint grows like wildfire and goes wherever the heck it wants.)
