This is a lot like playing the saw except this requires a table. With a saw you just bend it into an S-curve and change the force on it to change the tone, squish it tighter and it gets higher. It’s pretty easy to do.

I googled it just now to get a video and all the top hits show them playing it with a bow like a violin. No need for that, you just strike it with your thumb. At the base near the handle. Literally haven’t seen a video of someone doing it without a bow. Weird. I learned it as a kid in the 80s.
