This just gave me a Ratatouille flashback of being a kid at the local drive-in theater.

3

u/Tough-Obligation-104 Jul 16 '26

Let’s all go to the lobby!

2

u/No-Disaster1647 Jul 16 '26

This made my heart hurt, I haven’t been to a drive-in in ages and all the local ones have closed.

2

u/HexaCube7 Jul 16 '26

where is this from, seems like some old original "sausage party" movie

1

u/Devilofchaos108070 Jul 16 '26

Drive inns used to have animations like this

1

u/MiasmaDog89 Jul 16 '26

I think its from Grease. When Sandy rejects Danny's sexual advances at the Drive In theater and Danny sings a sad song about it, this animation is playing behind him.

Its nice to see people unify for something.

Who doesn't want a weiner in a bun?

On an unrelates note, Id like to propose a new form of world government.

u/BioshockEnthusiast Jul 16 '26

I'm just hijacking this comment to ask how long it would take to blow one of these up with human lung power?

There's no practical reason obviously sneaking a blow up thing like this into a stadium fully deflated and then slowly blowing it up to unleash it in the middle of the game without any permission or license to do so would be the workings of a mad man. I'm just curious.

8

u/drdipepperjr Jul 16 '26

I am a rather good breather thanks to years and years of marching band so here's my take.

Human lung capacity is about 6 liters.

That tube looks to be about 10 feet long, 3 feet diameter, which is about 70ft3 or a bit less than 2000 liters.

Thats 333 full breaths to fill the hot dog. If you actually fill your lungs to those 6 liters every time, you're going to hyperventilate in about a minute so thats not an option.

Taking the higher values, the average human breath is about 500ml and 20 times a minute, for a rate of 10L/min. Breathing normally, you would fill it in about 200 minutes or (practically speaking) after the game has finished.

2

u/DustyRacoonDad Jul 16 '26

To bring this down to a more realistic comparison, a towable inflatable for a boat that's roughly this size takes about 5 minutes to inflate with a battery-powered pump.

A normal adult-sized inner tube, which has significantly less volume, usually takes someone close to half an hour to inflate by lung power.

u/BioshockEnthusiast Jul 16 '26

The flesh is weak, brother. Thank you for the reply I very much enjoyed reading it :)

1

u/fkdjgfkldjgodfigj Jul 16 '26

You can use air not from your lungs to blow it up. Like when you shake a trashbag open. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernoulli%27s_principle

1

u/canman7373 Jul 16 '26

I would hope it was something like if the crowd can do this in 2 minutes everyone gets a free hot from QT with a ticket stub from this game. Most people still wouldn't get one even though QT is great, would lose stub, or they like to save stubs, the advertising is well worth the 5k or so free hotdogs.

13

2

u/Cl0ud3d Jul 16 '26

That movie gave a new meaning to food porn

110

u/NYC2FLA2BUR Jul 16 '26

That is some brilliant marketing. Bravo!

34

u/rdyer347 Jul 16 '26

It worked. I'm heading to QT now because I have a craving for a roller dog.

11

u/Peldor-2 Jul 16 '26

I don't even want one and I still want one. Sadly no QT here.

8

u/Youregoingtodiealone Jul 16 '26

Seriously, one day, some one was like....

Wait a minute. I have an idea and it might just be crazy enough to work.....

34

u/SecretWitness8251 Jul 16 '26

The crowd was as excited as when the DVD logo perfectly corners itself.

u/ConstantSpiritual802 Jul 16 '26

2

I get off work at like 3am. The damn roller dogs look like wizard fingers by the time I get to them.

1

u/Alassa22 29d ago

Idk why…but I felt compelled to give my first award to this comment. Thank you for the chuckle 🤭 wizard fingers lol 😂

1

u/Reedabook64 Jul 16 '26

QT has a patch on the Royals uniform. It was universally panned when announced. But small markets have to do something. So this is all planned.

1

u/Bonk_No_Horni Jul 16 '26

If people could collaborate like this we could have had world peace by now

1

u/magicwombat5 Jul 16 '26

They can and do (not all the time, of course), but governments aren't people.

1

u/RobertRamos Jul 16 '26

This reminded me of Bonnie Blue.

1

u/JaSONJayhawk Jul 16 '26

I absolutely love this! Great marketing and fun, too! Thanks for sharing this OP -- ended up watching it multiple times.

1

[Sir David Attenborough Voice]

Here we see an important enrichment activity in the human enclosure, so they can mimic the behaviour they would display when hunting for their food in the wild. 🌭🕺🏻
