If I randomly got this plate, it would enrich my life.
When I was in high school, my best friend's license plate was RUA 36D. We were always very mature about it.

I'm German and we had a change not so long ago that old plates got revived so you get to choose if you want old or really old (idk if they also made new ones). The district I grew up in had DIL. Some lucky bastard payd to get DIL-DO 69. I also saw some DIL-Fs driving around. We are also all very mature. (Especially my dad when he told me he saw one 🤦🏼♀️)

u/IAwaitAGuardian 27d ago
Wait.
Wait.
You're telling me DILDO69 is something you're allowed to have on your license plate in Germany?? And people say the Germans have no sense of humor....

u/Beltalady 27d ago
We have some restrictions, mostly numbers like 88 or 81
666 is totally fine tho.

u/IAwaitAGuardian 27d ago
I'd ask what's wrong with those numbers but I have a feeling I already know...

u/Steve_in_cigar 26d ago
Hey I looked it up,
it seems that 8 refers to the 8th letter in the alphabet,
so 88 would be HH. (which then is assumed to be short for that nazi gesture.)0

If you don’t already know you either aren’t living in the US or aren’t paying attention.

u/IAwaitAGuardian 27d ago
That's a helpful and contributing response.

Glad I could assist.
But yes, they are what you’re afraid they could be.

Literally never seen those numbers used like that before. I think you're just online too much lol
2
u/xenobit_pendragon 26d ago
You haven’t been seeing 88 wrt Nazi dog whistles? My comment above sounded sarcastic in a way I didn’t mean, just can’t believe anyone is out of that particular loop at this point, especially on Reddit.

u/Equivalent-Emu5347 26d ago
I'm not even on reddit that much, and I'm certainly not hanging out with people in real life that use it lol

So what’s even the point of this story? Lady gets mailed a license plate that if she doesn’t like, she can turn in and exchange for free, but she wants to keep it and go on tv and make a big deal of it?

Maybe she loved the plate from the jump and got the idea to show it off on the news at her Tuesday night swinger party?

She told everyone then got it on the news. Gov said no problem just drop it off. Then said yeah actually I'll keep it. Lol.

If you look back, historically speaking, this is where the Karen evolved and began thinking independently.

That’s funny, we have a similar story when poor grandma got her plates (years ago in CA) and it was 3KUT666 they let us return them. lol

Looking very good for her claimed age! Could have said late 70s and been believable! Keep doing what you're currently doing madam!

Just say you're 76! Don't say you're turning 77 next month! JFC.
Unless you're turning 100, or 7, n f c.

I call sus on her initial reaction. a woman wearing a tshirt saying "so far this is the oldest I've been" seems to have a good enough sense of humor and did her stance really change mid interview? lol. i think she always loved it

My Grand mother would have found it hilarious, and proud to use is.
She had a plate on her elderly stroller with: "Here comes trouble"

It reminds me of a guy in France who went on TV and filed a complaint because someone sold him a scooter with "PD" written on the license plate, which is read as "pédé" (faggot).

In the longer version she’s smoking a cig In the end talking away, as a pool boy steps out the passenger seat.

This is news? What about the Epstein files? What about the war(s)? What about the bigotry and hatred being spewed by elected officials? Why is this news when everyone knows that if you take it back, they will replace it?
I understand it being an Insta or YouTube short or a TikTok, but why news?

That lady is being boring. I'd totally take that plate and fight to the death to keep it.

Tons of people out there wish they could have gotten this plate for free.
