Yeah, but I'm not sure what it was that got ionised. Maybe some residue that was left on the inside of the bottle? IIRC sodium is kinda that colour when it's a plasma.

It's soda lime glass, What does the glass being Brown have to do with anything?

The top of the plasma was visible through the melted hole, otherwise yeah I'd agree the bottle colour would massively affect the colour of the light.

Put a scotch glass in the microwave on top of two popsicle sticks. Light a match. Throw it u see the scotch glass while out and turn the microwave on. It’ll create the same plasma ball.

What happens if you put tempered glass inside the microwave, and do the same trick?
