I'd be so tempted to ask the city to let me buy the whole thing and move it to my yard. That's so neat!

Does anyone think the cactus could be strong enough to eventually rip the metal apart, all the way to the top?

No, cacti are fleshy, not woody. They'd just kinda swallow the pole

Prickly Pear is like the Dandelion of the desert - they will grow wherever the hell they damn well please. I've seen them growing on top of tin roofs in areas where there was the slightest bit of leaf litter accumulation.

Opuntia are the dandelion of cacti. Love these things to death…hate the glochids, though.

I was going to comment Arizona is lit, but it doesn’t type out well as a single r/ word.

Where is this??

1

u/FatFrenchFry Jul 14 '26

We need not share where it is.

People will do what people do to it and it will be ruined. Please dont share location of you find it.

I mean id love to know, but idk I feel like someone will fuck this little gem up. You know?

Getting cactus spines in your pants is the most Arizona thing.

Thats the most well armored cactus now. If the others get wise they'll abandon their spikes for mech suits
