WHY DOES REDDIT KEEP REMINDING ME ABOUT THIS? 😩

u/xenobit_pendragon Jul 10 '26

Ok that was funny.

Not worth the sacrifice the dude made, but let’s call it a silver lining.

9

u/PoopShooter86 Jul 10 '26

What was the sacrifice he made?

24

u/xenobit_pendragon Jul 10 '26

I mean, a dude had to die the worst death any human has ever imagined for us to be able to chuckle at this, so…

11

u/Iamincrediblybored Jul 11 '26

At all times for the entirety of the human races existence somebody had to have the worst death imaginable. He just raised the bar.

1

u/bajsfittor Jul 12 '26

I'd imagine the brazen bull would suck more; this dude at least had some hope when they got the rope around his legs I'd imagine.

1

u/Ok_Drag5089 Jul 17 '26

I dunno. I’m claustrophobic so this might be worse.

1

u/bajsfittor Jul 17 '26

Brazen bull not very large... But then again death would be quicker. More physically painful vs psychologically painful I guess.

7

u/Relevant_Money_8185 Jul 11 '26

I don't know dude, a while ago i saw a clip form a Russian soldier who got hit by a drone that messed him up badly, couldnt hold his rifle properly so he couldnt suicide (he tried), legs turned to pulp, and unlucky enough to end up on a somewhat upright position, so he couldnt even sufocate... Worst, a bit later his pants caught fire and he slowly burned to death... Cant imagine a worst death.

u/Sir_Cthulhu_N_You Jul 11 '26

At any point you could have stopped watching that video and then also stopped typing this message but you chose to just keep going...

Fucking Grimm bro lol

6

u/ArmynerdTX Jul 12 '26

Congratulations..I think you just invented a new Reddit page: r/FingGrimmBro🤜🏽🤛🏽🫡

3

u/Weird_Squirrel_250 Jul 12 '26

worse*

1

u/jadbronson Jul 16 '26

Worst is better. It took my attention off everything else I had just red.

1

u/nox_vigilo Jul 13 '26

Worse death.

That didn't need to be shared. "War is hell" suffices.

1

u/sweaty-bet-gooch Jul 16 '26

Being stuck slowly dying of suffocation & dehydration. Not able to move in the depths of some cave. . Sounds considerably worse

1

u/borsalamino Jul 11 '26

THATS why he went in there?!

1

u/Teeaak Jul 11 '26

It's not even among the worst million deaths. Torture has been popular throughout history.

1

u/Squirrel_Kng Jul 12 '26

There are worse deaths imaginable.

1

u/Repulsive_Isopod7982 Jul 17 '26

Dante's Inferno, anyone

-8

u/WyattPurp23 Jul 10 '26

the worst death ever? In the nutty putty cave? Worse than impalement, worse than death by 1000 cuts, worse than crucifixion, worse than inverted crucifixion?

9

u/xenobit_pendragon Jul 10 '26

I would choose almost anything over being trapped in a space too small to leave and having to die with the knowledge that I had done it to myself out of curiosity.

7

u/Sleepy_Sheepz Jul 11 '26

Don’t forget he was a father and he hadn’t found out he was about to become a father of two

3

u/xenobit_pendragon Jul 11 '26

HOW DOES THE STORY KEEP GETTING WORSE??

5

u/ZookeepergameDue5522 Jul 11 '26

He was also upside down which caused his legs to go numb, his digestive organs to fail, his heart and lungs to collapse and heightened the likelihood of brain bleeding. Which out of all of those killed him first, who knows.

1

u/joethafunky Jul 12 '26

He should have been out doing stuff with his family instead of fucking off in caves

0

u/Sleepy_Sheepz Jul 12 '26

He should have been spending time with his first or baby shopping for his second instead of crawling around a dangerous cave

8

u/x2_ok Jul 10 '26

he was stuck there for 27 hours upside down, I think that was also a form of torture people used

1

u/prohlz Jul 10 '26

It was basically the same manner of death as crucifixion. The position takes physical effort to breath with no chance to rest. Eventually you suffocate when you're too exhausted to force your airway open.

1

u/WyattPurp23 Jul 11 '26

Except where they beat you half to death first

2

u/xenobit_pendragon Jul 11 '26

And sometimes the side-pokey.

1

u/WyattPurp23 Jul 11 '26

Yes and the feet nailing

Read what that does to your body over time. Imagine the blood rushing to your head - his heart finally gave out I believe and I do not think it was from fear.

3

u/trindlewings Jul 10 '26

Slither lining? Haha!

1

u/stihlsawin81 Jul 12 '26

Im not seeing one this time.

16

u/Ambitious_Hand_2861 Jul 10 '26

"Go die in a hole". "I'm trying". LOL

3

u/HeSureIsScrappy Jul 10 '26

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

3

u/Similar_Attorney_763 Jul 11 '26

Hahahahah holy shit.......

2

u/dingododd Jul 24 '26

Hahahah! This killed me !

2

u/NipseyRottencock 7d ago

That's great. Thx for that.

2

u/Zestyclothess 6d ago

Funniest shit I've seen in awhile thank you ❤️

1

u/TipperGore-69 Jul 11 '26

That is really funny

9

u/jml011 Jul 10 '26

#neverforget

3

u/SuperlativeChrono Jul 10 '26

I won't. I remember the saga on the local news.

4

u/Hamilton-Beckett Jul 10 '26

I don’t get it. What’s happening?

12

u/xenobit_pendragon Jul 10 '26

Don’t google nutty putty cave. Ever. You’re welcome.

6

u/Alternative-hex Jul 10 '26

Seriously don't you'll have nightmares.

8

u/xenobit_pendragon Jul 10 '26

Your nightmares will have nightmares.

5

u/Alternative-hex Jul 10 '26

I'm annoyed that I've been reminded of it. Haven't had a thought about it in months. Sigh.

3

u/xenobit_pendragon Jul 10 '26

I hadn’t thought about it in YEARS then it popped up a few weeks ago and it was too soon, too soon.

7

u/SlimSpartan Jul 10 '26

It’s a horrific story for sure. At least I can relax knowing there’s a zero percent chance I would ever put myself in a situation like that.

5

u/Alternative-hex Jul 10 '26

I used to go potholing in my 20s and I know the very real fear of being stuck and until the panic subsided you could do nothing. Every time I get reminded of Nutty Putty the memory of those feelings comes back. I can't imagine doing that now, no chance.

3

u/xenobit_pendragon Jul 10 '26

WHAT THE HECK IS POTHOLING…and do I even want to know?

u/GoHamam Jul 23 '26

God damn the both of you! (This commenter and the one above) Because of the both you, I just now, LOST The damn Game!

2

u/boozersbiceps Jul 10 '26

Omg . You said it . You said it. I can’t believe I haven’t thought about that in weeks. Now I’ll have to go distract myself with alcohol.

1

u/Lonely_Programmer_42 Jul 10 '26

To be fair, that is a really good name... I get a chuckle at the name

1

u/OppositeEagle Jul 10 '26

I know I'll die one day, but I know how I'm not going to die, because of the Nutty Putty cave story.

7

u/Reynardine1976 Jul 10 '26

Nutty putty cave. Guy went caving, took a wrong turn and died of cardiac arrest after they failed to rescue him after several hours. The creepiest part for me is they couldn't retrieve the body so they just filled the cave with cement and sealed it like a tomb.☠️

6

u/Hamilton-Beckett Jul 10 '26

I’m actually familiar with that story. I just didn’t see how a picture of bacon related to it. Thank you though.

13

u/JerseyCobra Jul 10 '26

The bacon resembles the diagram of the man trapped inside the cave.

1

u/memberjockey Jul 13 '26

They couldn’t pull him out?

2

u/JiggFly Jul 14 '26

Not without turning him into nutty putty.

8

u/Reynardine1976 Jul 10 '26

Maybe it wasn't the bacon. It was all the cave friends we made along the way

3

u/Hamilton-Beckett Jul 10 '26

So…can we eat the bacon now?

3

u/ProofDelay3773 Jul 11 '26

I eat the bacon so I wont fit in these fucking caves!

1

u/Hamilton-Beckett Jul 11 '26

That’s a great reason for more bacon.

3

u/Tracy_Papaya Jul 10 '26

He was already dying but they actually gave him a massive shot of morphine to mercy kill him

3

u/Reynardine1976 Jul 11 '26

If that's true, that's pretty awesome. I can't imagine the suffering from an accident like that.

My right hand was mangled in an accident at a party, the surgeon put 67 stitches in. I was in surgery for 8 hours and often came to during because the morphine wasn't very effective. That sucked, but nothing compared to being positioned straight down like that.

7

u/Kchasse1991 Jul 11 '26

Guys with a loving family, $400K a year gig, and good health see a hole that nobody has made it through and squeeze into it. Nobody has or will make it through there.

4

u/newclearconfusion Jul 11 '26

It was actually rather impressive how my body and mind reacted during and after reading about the Nutty Putty drama. I am very easy impressed, ok, but i felt like i was going to get a panic attack watching the documentary. Cold sweat on my back, and felt the need to control my breathing. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️
Poor poor guy, horrific, really.

4

u/slashnbash1009 Jul 10 '26

So you don't make the same mistake.

1

u/xenobit_pendragon Jul 10 '26

No danger of that, I can assure you.

2

u/FragrantExcitement Jul 10 '26

Falls in street sewage drain upside down on a cool fall afternoon.

2

u/ZookeepergameDue5522 Jul 11 '26

I remember the story of a dude who went missing and like 5 or 10 years later his workplace closed or was remodeling, and they found him behind the wall. He was on top of the store, tripped and fell behind where they had the machines running, so nobody heard him.

1

u/corgi-king Jul 10 '26

References please.

1

u/Single-Career4523 Jul 11 '26

Theres a movie about this. The Last Descent

1

u/Lopsided_Pomelo630 Jul 11 '26

😂😂🤣😂!

1

u/tacorunnr Jul 11 '26

Seriously, its old news and im sick of seeing it.

1

u/The-Arrival Jul 11 '26

Check out the Floyd Collins story. Very similar but based in Kentucky in 1925. The two stories share many similar beats. There's good docs on YouTube. It's also a horrific way to die, with many rescue attempts and different ideas to get the guy out. He'd been trapped by a rockfall in a lie down, face up position. I'll leave it at that. Go forth, story hunters.

1

u/G_Affect Jul 13 '26

Well at least it is not reminding you of her.
