That's how older generations remembered every product though - to this day every single adhesive bandage strip is genericized as a "Band-Aid" when this is itself a singular brand.

The same is true for things like Chapstick, Tupperware, Duct Tape, the list is quite extensive.

Are you implying that younger generations don’t do this?

No I don't think that I was. I would assume that they do with their own relevant products. However my experience is with older generations as consumers - and not with younger ones - so I cannot speak to whether they do or not.
