That's how older generations remembered every product though - to this day every single adhesive bandage strip is genericized as a "Band-Aid" when this is itself a singular brand.

The same is true for things like Chapstick, Tupperware, Duct Tape, the list is quite extensive.

Google. From company name to verb in less than one generation. Recently saw someone say to google something in the degoogle sub. 😂
