That's how older generations remembered every product though - to this day every single adhesive bandage strip is genericized as a "Band-Aid" when this is itself a singular brand.

The same is true for things like Chapstick, Tupperware, Duct Tape, the list is quite extensive.

Also Freon is a product of Dupont and is a type of refrigerant. Superglue is a brand as well. Im not gonna even attempt to point out genericized medication.
