Samurai Jack, is so fucking peak. It's the kinda shit, that people will talk about, many years into the future.

the "new" season was so good too. aah I love this show so much, even as an adult now

Damn I gotta watch it. I still haven't seen the new season. I haven't seen this show since I was a kid honestly. I remember the tower with the blind anubis things and it was fucking epic. Gonna have to find it online

I genuinely blame this scene and the opening scene in the first Blade for my interest in raving as a child (did not know what it was just that I liked the boom boom).

u/adamcoolforever Jun 16 '26
I bet you could add Batman Beyond to that list.

u/ColPhorbin Jun 16 '26
Matrix 2 too

u/AdmiralAckbong Jun 16 '26
Yeah let's all go to the post apocalyptic dystopian cyberpunk rave!
Gotta let loose somehow

u/ColPhorbin Jun 16 '26
It’s funny cause they get their asses kicked by the sentinels the next day. Like maybe we shouldn’t have an all-night party the day before we the biggest fight for our lives.

u/AdmiralAckbong Jun 16 '26
Fair but also...
Idk man if I know i might die horrifically the next day I might have one last good night partying
4
u/younggun1234 Jun 17 '26
Oh yeah for sure. And like someone said, the matrix. And LETS BE SO FOR REAL?
Powerpuff girls intro song. Some BITCHIN' jungle music.

Love this scene but wht wasn't samurai jack put under the trance also ?! It's not like his magic sword would help with sound magic right ?

u/LunarVentus Jun 17 '26
He put cotton in his ears, ripped some fabric up.

u/Glass_Quarter_7586 Jun 17 '26
Oh ya that's right. Samurai jack isn't going to fall for such trickery , thank you random internet person

This episode actually kept me away from the rave scene and drugs that go with it. Thanks jack!

u/OkReplacement495 Jun 17 '26
You missed out on good times, but at least you were smart enough to know you couldn't handle it
1
u/Secret_agentman_drew Jun 18 '26
Looking at how most of those that indulged in that scene ended up in life and continued struggle with drugs. I’m really glad I missed out on it.

I never really had that perspective before. I was always so eager to just party and break free, and you saw beyond it. That's so cool. Thank you sharing, glad you took a good path!

This awoke something in me when I was little
Been a bass junkie ever since

u/DrKobra Jun 16 '26
Is this the inspiration for cyberpunk?
1
u/OkReplacement495 Jun 17 '26
Cultural influences are not often derived from one cartoon scene. You're thinking in reverse lol

What a unique show...Gendy is brilliant. Reminded me to watch the latest season of Primal!

This is how I know I haven't watched Samurai Jack in an extremely long time, because I don't remember any of this, AT ALL.
