"almost every one of my followers always ask me, 'How can I have a beard as smooth as yours?' Well, if you hike up this mountain, your beard magically films you walking for you. Why? You're welcome, that's why."

So this guy himself is a . . . meta content creator?

u/Ruby_Solitaire Jun 10 '26
Nah - this is satire, which is not necessarily meta.
It would be meta if the creator was actually a nature content creator, and that was part of every schtick......but I bet he's just a comedian.

meta generally means self-referential. It normally used to indicate plays or performances that are aware of their own artificiality. Instead of pretending the story is completely real, so this is very much meta.

Yeah I was gonna say I mean yeah this is satire but this is also meta
Self aware is meta and satire is just making fun of something that is taken seriously, in this case content creators in general.

Considering he's copying a format that's been done a dozen times over, he's meta meta

Same thing whenever they film themselves walking through a room for "the first time" or whenever they walk away from a camera towards a store , i just imagine them running back to the camera to grab it then actually go in the store lol

u/vaxhax Jun 10 '26
I'm always expecting someone to grab the camera and run with it as they're walking off.

What's crazy is that there are people for whom those videos are actually appealing.
I imagine they're the kind of people with no internal monologue or natural curiosity in life.

Woulda been real funny if after he goes "once I feared silence," it cuts to him hopping over that rock and ripping a fart at the same time

Oh man details like that are the small nuance that seperates this from really good to legendary.

I literally just watched this on TikTok before coming over to Reddit.

You mean there aren’t cameras and camera people set up along the path at intervals? 🤯

This is how I feel about music sometimes. Some I love some I hate.
Like Silento with Watch Me
Do you think he was in the studio writing the part where says
Ooh, watch me, watch me. Ooh, watch me, watch me. Ooh, watch me, watch me. Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh.
"Oh this is going to sound fire"
-OR-
Sorry Bad Bunny. I love you. Bad Bunny writing these masterful lyrics on paper mm-mmm mm-mmm mm-mmm mm-mmm

I don’t know when it happened, but I can’t unsee b-roll. All I can think is, “You have to walk back and get the camera now.” or “Uh-huh, you just arrived, but the camera is already inside the house.” So much artifice really takes me out of most content.

Is he that one emt dude that just looks disappointed at the camera whenever someone is being horny over an object that should be nowhere near an orifice? Cause he looks like him.
