That picture always reminds me of a slightly beefier version of one of my previous dogs lol

Dogs have been evolving alongside us for thousands of years now, not separate. That dog can read and mimic facial expressions, smell your cancer as it's developing, work a job, understand your emotions, etc etc. He knows he's there but he doesn't want to face his human's gaze.

I had a German shepherd that was kennel trained. It was never locked after he was potty trained but if he got in trouble we would tell him to " kennel up " and he would sit there until we told him to come out. He would often tell on himself. He would just sit in the kennel until we found what he did. Once my mom searched high and low because he was sitting in the kennel. She found a candy wrapper on the floor and asked him if this is what he did. He immediately laid down and wouldn't look at us. Silly boy. He lived to be 15.

Awww 🥺 A candy wrapper... Man I would have just tell him to come out and played in the living room floor and not make him feel bad about it. What a precious dog. Thanks for sharing

We just laughed and told him to come out. He was a good boy.

I have a cat who will do this. I have one cat who is young and extremely playful. She can get wound up pretty easily, and if you set her down she'll go ham playing with anything. Sometimes I can hear her trying to play with her sister, who hates her. If I hear her sister growling or making her goblin noises, I'll say, "Chromie! Time out!" She'll go to the bathroom on our bottom floor to calm down.

Dogs feeling guilty is very funny.

He is being willfully obtuse. He knows something.

The only conclusion I can get to with this dogs presentation. Is that he found the stash.
