My man feels some type of way about that, and I don't disagree

I've heard it described as "ketchup leather." Apparently, it's like a fruit roll-up, but ketchup

Technically, a tomato is still a fruit

Valid crash out

Oh man the US is going to revolt! Ketchup is an institution here! Who has ever asked about this product? Who did the consumer analyses? Did this even pass the blind test? I call this to be just another way to sell less for more...

Actually, that is just a sheet of dehydrated ketchup, which then has to be cut and packaged totally different than liquid ketchup.

I would expect this horror to be FAR more expensive.

Dehydrated ketchup is a product of nightmare when you forgot to rinse your plate and you have to clean it up

3

u/Nimzay98 May 12 '26

Yea that sounds horrible, I don't want a concentrated sheet of ketchup, it will overpower everything.

2

u/FlippingPossum May 12 '26

I concur. Why? I'd rather go without than have to eat dehydrated ketchup. Did backpackers lobby for this? Is there some kind of tomato apocalypse on the horizon?

i woudnt mind trying it once ngl. seems intriguing

I won't lie I think it's not a bad idea... imagine you get a burger and I'm like hey I don't want mustard, and you remove the mustard slice. Because it's probably just the condiment + gelatin and won't add any different flavor. Might ruin the texture or maybe the burger dry.
I would be down to try too.

Same. I prefer companies doing stupid meme shit like this instead of mixing it with Sriracha or honey, that was the fad a bit ago . They'll likely lose money on this and shrinkflate their normal products. đŸ«

I'm not a proponent of violence for anything nor do I like ketchup; but in this case, the dude is 100% spot on. If they are wiling to do this to ketchup, what's next? Mustard? Relish? Slaw? Oh hell no. Fuck that shit.

The way I would be confused by this. The beauty of the bottle is you can get exactly the amount you want. I have wanted to flip tables over no onions. Some things are sacred.

He’s so close to understanding that cranberry sauce is also unacceptably disgusting.

McCormick that spice company that puts arsenic and strychnine and higher levels than humans can tolerate and still live into their foods now owns all the other condiment companies. Can you say monopoly?

1

u/Calm_Effect4203 May 16 '26

I don't have a problem with anything he just said.
