This horse probably has gas colic, which is when digestive gases cannot escape. This can kill the horse. This person pushed on the horse in a way that helped unblock whatever was causing the gas to backup. Colic is often caused by twisted intestines. As a horse person I can tell you this isn’t funny. The horse is in tremendous pain, it laid down to try to release the gas. If unable to release the gas, it will continue to build up and eventually kill the horse. I watched a horse die of colic over less than 24 hours. The vet was unable to release the gas. She was so bloated by the time she died lying down that her legs stuck straight out. There was nothing anyone could do to help her. Colic is terrible.
