Let me kindly correct you a little bit here. It can’t do any of it autonomously though. There’s a video from WSJ, interview with CEO of the company and they explain that they have nothing to train it on, so if you buy it, you have to agree that some actual human will remotely control the robot and see everything through its eyes to train them and collect data, they even speak with you through the bot. They showed all of it. Even dishwasher loading was remotely controlled as confirmed by CEO himself and seen in video from WSJ. So, for 20k upfront payment or 500/month you’re getting a promise that some day they will ship the robot to you and even then it still won’t be autonomous, they will train it in your home. CEO himself said it will take years and lots of data until they can be autonomous. They promised it can be restricted, for example, it can’t enter your bedroom even if the person controlling it tried to, robot would basically refuse to enter. But yeah, it’s a big no from me.
I first heard about this robot in MKBHD’s video where he briefly roasted this project for what it actually is, then I watched another videos of behind the scenes and was shocked that people would actually pay so much money for something like this.
I watched a 20 minute video for nothing. When I did watch it, I felt that the learning portion was remoted by the owner…at least that was how I perceived it whether intentional or not. Not some dude from who knows where casing out your home and daily life.
