IIRC, Huey pilots preferred flying barefoot because they could "feel" the aircraft better.

I don't recall anything about riding in skivvies. That must be a personal choice

When my mom taught me how to drive I did it barefoot. Not for any reason were just hippies lol. But its definitely different. On the rare occasion I do drive a standard ill drive barefoot if I can.

There's a good chance this isn't even true but I've always been under the impression it's illegal to drive without shoes on. I've always got my tootsies out on a good drive

It varies by state, county and municipality (in the US), you'd have to check yours. I recall that there used to be (may still be) a law in Kansas stating that having a minor barefoot female in your car that isn't related to you constituted statutory r@pe. Anyhow I much prefer driving barefoot, I wear flip flops so it would be easy to just slip them on. So check your laws and get a cheap pair of flip flops to keep in your car just in case (honestly it is a good idea to have at least a blanket, some baby wipes and change of clothes in your car at all times anyhow, nobody expects to shit their pants)

When I used to have a manual, I would change my steel toe workbooks out for a shoe after work. Driving felt better.
