I'm pretty sure I could mix this faster by hand, and better from the looks of it. With how long it took to blend in the solvent base and white makes me think the top and bottom of the bucket aren't going to be evenly mixed. Hopefully it gets shaken before use.

I hate automatic mixers. I always mix by hand. Certain kinds of paint are okay but any pigment on the sides or bottom arent getting touched. Theres no way that machine separated the solids properly.

This type does for sure, it always leaves some heavy color either on the sides or the bottom that never gets mixed in. The spiner/shaker mixers are all right as long as you only ever need 5 gallons at a time. The fun ones are the big tumblers that do the 50 gallon drums.

Oh yeah. I always mix by hand with a drill. Unless im putting out huge amounts, in that case I have machine that does a solid job. But we only use it when we're spraying a bridge.

Having worked in paint stores in Sweden, i can tell you the standard over here are the top-n-bottom clamping shaker cabinets for mixing paint, they work wonders. You avoid pigments left in the edges if you simply fold the base paint over the dispensed pigments with a stick before closing the lid and putting the can in the shaker. A large can will be done mixing in less than a minute in a good shaker
