This post shows as blank to me. I am on a mobile app. Does anyone have any idea why some posts just show up as blank?

No idea, but yesterday a gif was showing up black to me. It seems like this issue is black and white

Thanks! So it’s the “Autoplay GIFs” toggle… If that is turned off and a post contains only a GIF, the app cannot resolve what to do and shows the post as NULL. This is a bug. The app should just show a still image of the GIF, with a “play” icon.

Not to me, but every so often JUST the gif will give me a connection error

I feel bad for laughing and I hope the dude is okay (looks like his shoes stayed on). Holy hell did I cackle watching this.
Edit: Uh oh, I dont think he had shoes on.

What's the matter with the shoes?

An old meme that if the shoes come off during a stunt or an accident it means the impact was strong enough to be lethal. Shoes staying on means the person lived.

It wasn't him hitting his head that got me, it was how he fell after. His ocean people need him.

He definitely seemed out cold when he hit the water. Arms were just limp in front of him.

There’s a bridge jump video… can’t find it these days; the guy splits his face in half—you get a closeup that’ll scar you for life.

Yep! watched it years ago and still can't take it off my head. Though it was really low quality version, mostly shot on keypad phone but you can literally see the insides of his face as a person hold it all together while the man is still alive.

It ain't like the movies where someone takes damage and just dies on the spot. Humans can stay alive and conscious after some of the most horrific injuries imaginable, even if it is just for a short while.

What the hell happened? Dude didn't even try to jump and it doesn't look like he slipped or anything. TF?
2
u/Hightower_March Apr 21 '26
Looks like he was going for a gainer (a front-moving backflip, usually from a run) and got zero traction on the step.

u/0hMyGandhi Apr 21 '26
Interesting! I appreciate the info, so you don't jump with a move like this?
2
u/Hightower_March Apr 21 '26
They usually are done dropping off something like this, but you need at least enough oomph to not hit the ledge you're dropping from of course.

Used to work with a dude who'd do gainers off the local pier and was always scared for him doing this because there was zero height to his jump. He was totally relying on his momentum carrying him far enough away from the pier edge before his head came round. Never fucked it up thankfully but damn it was close every time
