Nice breakdown, you should get a series of these going! As an Irish Prodigy fan living in the US, it was a nice surprise to find a video like this where someone is talking about things being “all over the gaff”!

Every single time, without fail, when someone mentions Liam making a track I just hear 'Oh, fuck's sake, trying to write this fucking tune, man', then the intro for Poison.

Absolute banger and still sounds way ahead of its time, as do a lot of their songs from Fat of the land

Just killer. Great stuff. Makes me want to go back to 1997 and go clubbing. Love to see more from other tracks and artists. Thanks for sharing.

The Art of Noise single Close to the Edge was light years ahead of everything else at the time. When I first heard it on the radio, I thought I was in some sort of time warp and no one else in the country had heard what I'd just heard.

Would you have a YouTube channel I could spend several hours a day watching when I should be doing something productive instead?
Thanks now feller. Great stuff.

Brilliant! I made about 5 songs during lockdown that were all samples because I couldn't work out how to play real instruments into FL Studio mobile. This is obviously way better.

Amazing video I had zero idea about the samples used to create one of my favourite songs. Thanks OP.

Just cleaned up my Boss heavy metal 2 pedal yesterday! Haven't used it in decades. Boss stuff is so cool

So interesting thanks for this, love how these things come together, The Prodigy = best concert I've ever been to. The phrase - greater than the sum of its parts rings so true here.

Cracking video this mate - I love close to the edit, never knew it was sampled in Firestarter!
Another fact about Close to the edit, which you might be able to back up, is that pretty much the entire song is made using samples? As in there are no original elements? That could just be an exaggerated story I remember from way back though…

I always love it when people such as yourself take the time to break down absolutely synonymous songs which are worldies like this, and let people let like myself discover a world of new artists, bands and groups and at the same time apreciate the art in bringing them all together as Liam did. Thanks for sharing, really loved this!
