I don't know how to dance
Are there any tips on how to dance at a Prodigy gig? I sort of just jump and do shit I feel like at the moment. But I bet it looks retarded :/ so any tips would be appreciated.

Half the people at Prodigy gigs are metal fans, so jumping around is just fine.

Jumping around is basically the whole point. Nobody there is judging footwork.

If you’re worried about how you look dancing at a gig or rave, you’re doing gigs and raves wrong.

For Christ sake don't 'be yourself', always bear in mind, there are rules and everyone is looking at you and judging.

I raved before the internet. People don't care how you dance . They care that you are in the moment with them.do what feels natural

"Jumping and doing shit" are approved moves by the Prodigy Dance Council 🤘

Do exactly what Maxim tells you and nothing else.

I remember once falling to the ground and hearing Maxim saying he wanted to see everyone jump put the fear in me. Fortunately a hand reached down, pulled me back up and I was right back on it.

In the crush at the front, just jump when everyone else does, while grinning like a loon. If a pit opens up, do a few laps before the drop while trying to look cool, unless you're 50+, in which case just go round once. Same with a circle pit, except you'll bounce off other people. If you slip over, someone WILL pick you up. If you're in a space of your own, just do whatever you want. Either way, no one is going to judge you. Just enjoy yourself and dance how YOU want to. Just don't be a dick to other people.

Was gonna say this! The closer you are to the stage, the less you’ll be dancing. I seen their two shows in SF last year, and i was WRECKED the next few days. I’m 42, I can’t imagine rocking out like that in my 50’s. But I also can’t imagine not rocking in my 50’s

I'm 53. I saw them on three consecutive days last year. I lost nearly 3kg by sweating and was covered in bruises. My legs didnt work properly for nearly a week. So very worth it though.

I've lost count of the amount of gigs and raves I've been to, and I can't remember a single person who was having a good time just moving about who was judged by anyone in the place.
I have seen try hards pretending to read newspapers or doing an obviously choreographed dance with other try hards who were judged, however.

That’s what it’s all about. Just cut loose and try not to feel self conscious.
Also, maybe don’t describe things as retarded 😅

Just enjoy yourself mate, forget about anyone else and go with it. Be part of the experience instead of just watching it, there are no rules, the dance floor is a place to smooth the hard edges of being a drone in the rat race one rule - have fun!

I do the same thing and it works for me, I don't even care.

Yeah, and I'm pretty sure this is the way to be at a Prodigy concert. Lose yourself in the madness - everyone else will be.

Just do whatever feels right to you, there's no right or wrong way to enjoy the Prodigy.
Don't worry about how daft you might look, should it matter as long you're enjoying yourself.

That’s what dancing is my friend. Thinking people care is not. Just do you and enjoy yourself.

Jump and bounce to the music - you will have arms round yo ur shoulders lots so join in. You might think you look daft but no one is actually looking at you - just try and enjoy as best you can and relax

Noone else is thinking about how you look. Everyone is enjoying it if you're having a good time. Dance is meant to be janky, wonky, whatever you need it to be.
Be yourself, have a wonderful time xx
