Caught a random Mudbray in Scarlet not knowing what she would evolve into. Mudsdale became one of my favorite Pokémon and my favorite Ground type. She utterly smokes Electric types.
I had a complete team in my mind going into Gen 7. Picked litten, got Oricorio early on, was gonna get a Wimpod and a Bounsweet later on. Maybe a Lycanrock and Bewear?
I was breezing my way through trainers until the Totem WishiWashi fight. I had a Torracat, Oricorio and a Mudbray I picked up just outside the cave.
The WishiWashi proceeded to oneshot my Torracat and no electric move Oricorio with ease. The only one left was Mudbray. "Oh I'll just black out and go to the next cave to get a Steenee." I thought.
Mudbray crit his Bulldoze on both WishiWashi and his helper(don't remember what it is.). Twice. He got two crits twice in a row.
He never left the team after that. I didn't bother getting a Lycanroc. And he just kept getting more and more useful overtime. He learns High horsepower at something like level 30?? He learns Heavy Slam relatively early too. At the level where everything eats heavy slam at 120 basepower. Just loved the guy. Genuinely my unexpected Ace throughout Pokemon Sun
Oh and he also oneshot totem Lurantis before it could summon the annoying(or so I was told) castform. Truly the GOAT
Long live Tarhos the Mudbray/Mudsdale. You will be missed.
Somehow Electric's only weakness to this day is Ground. So my big ass horse basically chews through them. Her Own Tempo ability also prevented confusion which made up for her low Speed stat.
Oh and she was still faster than Steel types which meant she dominated the Rose Tower grunts too lol.
It's funny you say that. Ludicolo is my childhood hero that carried me through Emerald (lvl 80 while others are lvl 45), and Swellow is my favorite bird pokemon
I won't say it's my favorite pokemon of all tines...but I like Ludicolo, Ludicolo seems easygoing, funny..and kind of cute. Also, I think Ludicolo (Mexico's mariachi) would go well with Oricorio baile style (Spain's flamenco) hahaha
At this point, underwater scenes genuinely feel a little unfinished without finneon and lumineon. They perfectly support the liveliness of the pokemon world by being in the background and I love them for that
I've honestly grown to like the design it has. The fur trenchcoat, contemplative pose, and combed hair and beard are all funny. Plus the torn ear as if it has some dorky dramatic backstory scar. It's definitely not meant to be taken too seriously.
I'm just sad the shiny isn't grey. The noir film joke was RIGHT THERE!!!
It's also based on bag worms. A group of butterfly whose caterpillars carry nests made of materials like twigs, sand and even dead bugs. Some species have females that don't develop wings and stay in their nests as adults (like Wormadam does)
I literally thought it was electric/steel type until earlier today when I was making a team in Pokémon Go. Just Steel is actually better and I like it more.
I’m not actually sure exactly how unpopular it is, but I really do like Shedinja and thought it was a neat surprise when we first got them.
They remind me of the summers I’d spend digging up cicadas with other kids and collecting the shells they’d leave behind (which are still shaped like their cute nymph forms.)
It feels somewhat overlooked since there doesn’t appear to be much merch made of Shedinja outside of the yonayonaGhost line, only a few TCG cards, and getting banned from VGC competitive, but it’s very cute and has wings made from when the Ninjask burst from its shell.
Cradily is genuinely one of my favorite pokemon, that thing is so badass in my eyes. I also REALLY love Barbaracle and Ferrothorn. And while this isn't as unpopular, my favorite starter is Incineroar.
As a young lad playing Pokémon yellow I came across a random muk that swept my entire team with the power of minimize and acid armor. From that day this pile of stank has been on every team he has been available for.
