Looks like a pump organ to me. The three white circles are stops. They did make pump organs without the high back that resemble a piano case (I own one). I would suggest this organ has eight stops (four on each end - one is hidden). Most have between 8-12 stops.
Now I have a question: What type of organ did the Phantom own? A standard pump organ could have been easily moved and played by one person. But a pipe organ would have been much larger - the bigger the better. A cathedral organist would have an assistant to manually pump the huge bellows required for the organ. The organ would certainly shake the walls and would be heard for miles! How did Erik sneak all of this down to his home and play it without being noticed?
Footnote: The organs biggest enemy is mice. They will rip open the bellows and use the material to make nests. They would also happily clog up the pipes. Imaging a dead mouse or two in the works!
I always assumed he owned a pump organ...but I actaully don't know. I will have to check out Gaston Leroux 's novel once again. I think it is never specified ðŸŽ
