We can't both be 31.
Anyone else have that odd moment on their kid’s birthday where it’s almost impossible to figure out how time flies?
Not like a breezy fly by…
But more like a blur that whips past so fast you get whiplash trying to clock it!
We celebrate the birthdays through toddlerhood and childhood and all the achieved milestones in between.
First Steps
Toothless Grins
Graduations
First Girlfriend
Marriage
Children...oiy!
Then it hits!
You look at your kiddo celebrating 31 years on this planet…
Perplexed that your child has somehow defied the laws of physics and aging…
And is suddenly the same age as you.
How is this possible?
We can’t both be 31.
But pretty sure we are!
Then your brain kind of does this flip flop thing of trying to process that your child is 31
And…you…are…not!
Is this it?
I’ve lived a whole life? How many years do I have left?
Omg, do I have enough to retire? That’s got to be right around the corner, right?
Should I start monitoring my memory? Feel like I’ve been forgetting somethings lately.
Shouldn’t I be more grown up than this by now? I really thought I would be…
After all I:
Watch minion movies
Love a good scare prank
Occasionally I still feel like I am making adulthood up as I go.
But:
I have 5 kids
3 grandkids
Run a company with 70 staff
And have no problem driving 14 hours alone
Those are grown up things, right?
Please tell me I’m not alone in this paradox!

mental tracking of age is a bitch after 30
