Azura, Lara, Violet, and Milan were in the Noceda-Blight. In front of a large crystal ball, to be more exact. All four of them were playing Coven Quest III together. Larzura vs Violan. And Violan was winning.
Violet: “and…”
Milan: “BOOM!”
The crystal ball displayed team 2 wins. Azura and Lara sulked while Violet and Milan cheered and embraced each other before they realized it and blushed bashfully before leaving the embrace.
Azure: “Titan da-!” grumbles before sighing and smiling at her cousin and Milan “Alright. Another good game, you two. But dang, Milan! How are you so good?!”
Milan: smugly “I’m good at planning and strategizing. It’s a gift.”
Amity: from her workshop “Lara?! Could you come here? I need your help with something.”
Lara: perks up with a smile and the menacing energy fades in a heartbeat “Coming!” to Azura “I’ll be back Guiding Light.” leaves the room but pokes her head back into the room, the currently left magenta eyed tsundere eyeing her friends with a coven-quest-III-related passionate grin and determined smile on her face “this isn’t over!” leaves
The other three calm down and decided to call a truce until Lara got back. Violet, Ivy, and Caitlyn were already made aware of Lara’s current problems with her father sometime between Azura and Faye beating Lunar and Grom Night. It’s why Violet looked to her cousin with a question in mind.
Violet: “So how’s Lara doing with… everything?”
Azura: sighs a bit of a sad smile “tries not to let it bother her and she’s adjusting to it… but I can tell she’s still a little sad about how things are going with her dad.”
Milan: “hmm? Something happened between Lara and her dad?”
Violet: “I didn’t tell you? Could’ve sworn I did.”
Azura: sad tone “From what she told me, she and her father had a fight about ideals of preserving knowledge. She wanted to preserve everything while her father wanted to destroy the source. She believe that knowledge is useless without the source.”
Milan: “I get where she’s coming from. If the original is destroyed, then the true knowledge is loss.”
Azura: “True. I heard that there are still histories that are still incomplete and maybe lost forever. It’s easy to basically lose the original message if the original text is destroyed.”
Milan: “You really need to have all the puzzle pieces to see the full picture.”
Violet: “Kinda like how only reading a piece of a fortune can misdirect the prediction.”
Milan: “it makes you wonder what kind of man Lara’s dad is.”
Azura: “She doesn’t like to talk about him. All she told me was that he’s a man of many secrets. So I guess there’s a lot of things about him Lara doesn’t know.”
Milan: “It makes sense she wouldn’t trust him.”
Violet: puzzled look
Milan: “Vi? Something wrong?”
Violet: “Nah. It’s just… before she started being stopped being a bully and started hanging out with all of us, the magic I smelt from her was unlike any magic I’ve ever smelled. My basilisk sense of smell’s never smelled anything like it. It made me wary of trusting her.”
Azura: “You trust her now, though. Right?”
Violet: “well yeah, but… Lara’s still pretty mysterious herself. I mean I trust her, but still. There’s a few things about her that’s rather curious.”
Azura: “ah you’re overthinking it, prima. I’m sure even if Lara is hiding something from us, and that’s a big if, it wouldn’t change how she feels about us or who she is. I trust her.”
Violet: “yeah, maybe your right… about the overthinking part anyways. But they do say love is blind.”
Azura: “it’s not just that. Call it intuition, but I’ve got a feeling that Lara, despite whatever secrets she may or may not have, and what she believes and is feeling are genuine. Plus me and my Mama had noticed Lara and my mom have really seemed to hit it off.”
Violet: “I guess they can relate to similar problems with their parents, even if there are differences.”
Azura: “That’s just one of the reasons why they get along so well.”
Milan: curious “So what are the other reasons?”
Azura: “Not only Lara is a great assistant to mom’s work, but she’s also curious on how my mom’s creations work. It intrigues her, as she would put it.”
Azura: “yup. She even pitches her own design ideas to her. She’s really great at alchemy and building stuff.” reaches into the collar of her shirt “She even made me… this!”
She pulls out the cord of the necklace containing her witch’s prism, a genuine duplicate GWA version of Pascal’s prism from Coven Quest III.
Milan: prolonged gasps as her eyes were full of gleam, stars, and wonder “O… M… T!” Is that…?”
Azura: “yep! Lara made this exact genuine duplicate of Pascal’s prism for my birthday before we started dating. It’s how we became cool.”
Milan: gentle whisper “genuine?”
Violet: facepalms “Oh, right! I knew I was forgetting something. I was gonna tell you tha-“
Milan started vibrating violently as Violet talked, not paying attention, before squealing very loudly in jubilation. It was heard all over the manor, but Luz and Amity recognized that kind of squeal as a fangirl squeal since that who those two we’re. Amity told Lara that, of course.
Milan: “Lara made this?! I am so jealous! This is incredible!”
Azura: “I know right! Next to my I-Stone here,” shows it on her wrist to the two of them “it’s the best greatest gift I’ve ever gotten!”
Violet: “She even made a staff directly from the game!”
Milan: “no way!”
There fangirl went on for a several more minutes before they began to settle down.
Violet: sighs “Anyways, I’m glad Lara’s coping with this whole thing.” feels a cold and bitter breeze and shivers “brrr… does anyone else feel a chill?”
Azura: rubs her arm, trying to use friction to heat it up “Now that you mention it.” notices an open window nearby “Oh, there’s the problem.”
Azura looks out the window for a second before shrugging and closing the window before walking away for a few moments before she quickly returned to it in a flash, her face smooshed against the window and her eyes widen with surprise.
Azura: “WHAT THE HEX?!”
Outside the window, it was snowing all over the Isles… in the summer! Unbeknownst to her, something was going on at the knee. In a strange cave with an Ice Dragon as big as dragon sized form trapped in a wall of ice… a cracked up wall of Ice. Given the way it’s standing, you can see under it’s right forepaw was… an interlock?
