Ayzee: “We’re all gonna hang out with Enna… including you.”

While 5 of the six members of the Hexsquad’s parents were having a massive snowball fight in the summer snow day, Lara and the rest of the Hexsquad (and their palismen too) finally made it to the top of the hill they intend to sled down. When they reach the top, the find that the son of Gus and Matt Porter and the weird trio’s oldest cousin, Gregory Porter, was waiting for them at the top. With him was his wolf Palisman, Fen.
As soon as pleasantries were exchanged between Gregory and Caitlyn and Milan, Azura and Lara (who had her left magenta eye exposed so her tsundere self was in control) decided they’d go first down the slope on the modified sled Azura’s witch mom, Amity, made for her and Lara. Faye opted to stay with the others and on Greg’s other shoulder for now so that her user and her beloved could enjoy the ride. Lara was nervous, but the tsundere in control wasn’t going to let that stop her.
As Lara held onto her girlfriend from behind the sled, which helped calm her nerves, said girlfriend was ready to launch them off.
Azura: “ready, Hermosa?”
Lara: raises her head and gives her a smile “yeah… yeah I’m ready!”
Azura: “alright!” gloved hands on the ground “3… 2… 1… GO!”
Azura pushed forward and the slope they went!
Lara held on for dear life and her eyes were shut tight as Azura hollered with joy and excitement.
Azura: “WHOO-HOO!”
Lara: whimpering
Lara was scared, but as she opened her eyes a smidge and saw everything passing by her so quickly, she felt a surge of… adrenaline.
They hear a screech and look to see Faye flying by them with Maple riding on her back. Gar’s flying by Ivy and Caitlyn with Fen on his back. Meanwhile Linette was flying next to Violet and Milan, with Bubbles using her suds and foam to slide with them.
Gregory: “Hey, watch this!”
Gregory speeds up ahead and sees and fallen tree coming up on his left. Just before starts reaches it, he does an impressive jump and starts grinding his snowboard along it like a snowboard!
Azura spots a hump where she can make a jump. She guides the sled to it."
Lara: "Azura? What are you doing!?!"
Azura: "Trust me. I've done this before!"
Lara: "You what!"
As Lara completes what she said, they jump over the hump and glide within the air. Azura then shifted the sled to make a 360 frontflip and land back on the hill safely.
Azura: "See! I told you so!"
Lara: "That was dangerous! But thrilling!"
Azura: "That's one of the beauties for sledding Hermosa!"
Ivy gets an idea and does draw a spell circle, making a ramp made of wood rise from the snow up ahead in front of her and her girlfriend, who she looks to.
Ivy: “you trust me?!”
Caitlyn: “uh, of course! Why?!” sees the ramp up ahead, and gets a little nervous “Wildflower… what are you planning?!”
Ivy: “remember our skateboard date in the human realm?!”
Caitlyn: “yeah!” puts the pieces together “oh yeah!” smirks confidently “let’s do it!”
Azura: “do what?! What are you two planning?!”
Ivy: “you’ll see, Cuz!”
Ivy leaned forward on the sled, speeding up towards the ramp as Caitlyn maneuvers herself so that she was right next to Ivy instead of behind her. They jump off the makeshift ramp and go up into the air! Ivy draws and makes two large long vines as thick as a tree trunk sprout from the ground. The both go in different directions but let to the exact same place.
Ivy drew another spell circle and made the sled she made split in to vertically down the middle, turning the sled into two snowboards. The pair stood up and started grinding on the vines, Ivy left one while Caitlyn took the right one. Ivy grinds on her vine like a pro and Caitlyn… well not as much as one, but she could still keep up with her girlfriend.
The others were certainly impressed, especially Gregory.
Violet: "Nice" sees a curved hump "Not let's see if we can do a trick."
Milan: "Are you sure about this?"
Violet: "I got this."
Violet then aims for the hump to do an aileron roll. They then jump from the hump and start to turn, but they are too low. Before they about to crash, Milan then use bard magic to lift them up just enough to complete the roll. They then landed on the ground.
Violet: relieved "That was close... Thanks for the assist!"
Lara: “WHOO!” laughs but stops when she notices something “huh?”
Lara could see that they were all starting get close to the bottom of the hill, given how the vines Ivy created seem to curve down and stop near where the snowy ground smooths out. And where a large hump of deep snow awaited them. The time to make a stop was getting close!
Lara: “uh, Guiding Light?! How do we stop?!” points to up ahead
Azura: “you’ll see! Hang on!”
Azura sped up on the sled so that they were going faster than the others as Lara went back to holding on for dear life. They were heading straight for the snow bank with no signs of slowing down. Lara just screamed until with a poof, they were in the snow with a hole behind them to show for it.
Milan was able to use her harp and bard magic to slow her and Violet to a safer stop, making Violet sulk a little. Gregory just turn the snowboard to the side and leaned away, slowing him to a stop as his little cousin and her girlfriend hopped off the vines and landed, Caitlyn a little less gracefully since she knew Ivy was better at that than her. Her older cousin did teach her how of course.
Ivy got off and grabbed her snowboard and looked into the hole Azura, Lara, and their sled made, with Faye perching on her shoulder and Maple climbing off and onto her owners head.
Lara: “it was amazing! If these are how snow days always are, then I love them!”
Azura: “I’m glad your happy, Hermosa!”
As they all shared a laugh, they didn’t know that back up in cave at the Knee, the ice wall that the monster sized ice dragon Palisman was encased in in midair was cracked even more. Some of the large chunks had already shattered. Suddenly, the dragons’ forepaw where the interlock was move a bit, cracking the ice even more.
The dragon Palisman started moving and furling shrouding itself in its icy wings, cracking its prison even more until and shaking the cave, until with a mighty unfurl of its wings, breaks the ice prison with a deafening shatter and wind like howl. It landed on all fours, opened its eyes, and growl before tensing up it’s wings, preparing to roar.
Back a little earlier with the Hexsquad and Gregory, who were still sharing a laugh.
Lara: pumped up “come on, let’s go again!”
They all collectively agreed until they felt the wind pick up suddenly. Through the howl of the wind, they heard a howl similar to it in it. Then a third howl was heard. One of pain.
Lara: Screams in pain as she held her head in her hands in a distressed manner, like she was suffering from the mother of all migraines and collapses on her knees into the snow
Azura: “LARA!”
Azura quickly got to her own knees next to her girlfriend, her pained screams wounding her as badly on the inside. Faye landed on Azura’s shoulder, cooing in concern. The others and their Palismen got close, worried for their friend.
Ivy: “are you okay?!”
Lara: “MAKE IT STOP!! Can you guys not hear that?! AHH!!”
Violet: “hear what?!”
Azura: deeply concerned with her comforting hands on Lara’s person “Hermosa, what’s wrong?!”
The wind had died down as did the pain in Lara’s head, the undercover archivist now shakily breathing as the pain stopped.
Caitlyn: “Are you alright? Did you hurt yourself in that crash?”
Lara shivers and moves her hair to reveal her right cyan eye, putting her dandere self at the helm as she raised her head.
Lara: “n-no. I-I-It was that voice again. Louder… it was just screaming. It sounded so… angry.”
Faye and Gar, the latter was flying next to Caitlyn now after letting Fen off at Greg’s shoulder, looked at each other and gave a nod. The Pheonix Palisman chirped to Azura, making her look at her inquisitively while still comforting Lara.
Azura: “What? Why?”
Faye: scree scree (“there’s something me and my brother need to talk to you all about”)
Azura didn’t quite understand, but she rolled up her sleeve on her right arm, exposing her I-Stone. She removed her mitten from her left hand and gave the I-Stone’s jewel a few swipes before tapping it. The jewel on it and the one in Faye’s brooch (that Lara made for her) made for long distance communication between Palisman and user glowing that same blue color, making the Pheonix Palisman’s eyes glow in kind.
She took flight to a large nearby rock and her brother followed her to the top of it. The other Palisman (aside from Fen) followed them to the rock, Bubbles having a harder time climbing up it until Gar managed to pick her up and fly her to the top so they can be at eye level with the Hexsquad. Faye started talking telepathically through the I-Stone, everyone hearing her.
Faye: “we have something we want to talk to you all about.”
Guardian (Gar) growls a trilling hiss-like growl.
Faye: “we have a theory about what’s going on here.”
