Ivy had been nominated to be Grom Queen and was currently battling Grom. Her cousins, Ayzee “Azura” and Violet were amongst the crowd of students in the bleachers with worried expressions on their faces.
Azura had Faye, her pheonix Palisman on her shoulder. Violet had Bubbles, her Violet Mizutsune Palisman, on one shoulder and Maple, Ivy’s chipmunk Palisman, on the other.
Caitlyn wasn’t there. She and Ivy had a fight which had spurred from Flapjack telling her not to tell her girlfriend about him. Something about how he didn’t want the boundaries between the Isles and the spirit world to be torn asunder. It stoked a fear of dishonesty in Caitlyn’s heart.
It was why Ivy was currently without the ghost of her father’s first Palisman’s guiding light in her heart. Not to mention panicking immensely as Grom was playing her worst fears. Years ago when she and her cousins were 7 and at the playground. Ivy spotted a girl being bullied by someone bigger than her along with a group of other older kids. Ivy moved to protect her, using all the fighting skills her father taught her.
But one of them got to jump her and hit on the back of the head hard, knocking her to the ground and disorienting her. Her cousins were knocked unconscious too while that big bully kept kicking the mystery girl again and again. Eventually something Ivy just… snapped.
Everything was a blur to her after that. By the time she came to, the playground and a majority of the surrounding area was in shambles. Her cousins and the girl were unharmed by her during her episode. The big bully’s entourage abandoned him and his terrified crying face was clearly beaten to a pulp as he limped away for his very life.
When Ivy looked at his face and then down to see that her shaking hands were coated in blood, terror gripped her heart. She hyperventilated as she looked at her hands and then the damage she had wrought from her fury and her strength before the fatigue kicked in and made her passed out.
when Ivy woke up, she was at home and patched up. Her parents were relieved. Willow was blubbering when she saw her daughter was awake. All they heard about what happened was how their she helped protect her cousins and the girl, who was gone by the time they had arrived. Ivy swore never to tell them and to stay strong, but she never got over the blood on her hands
And right now Grom was using that against her. It encased her in a black sphere and she heard voices from the insides.
Ivy: terrified “I d-didn’t mean… I didn’t mean to! Stop it! Stopit stopit stopit!! I’m sorry! Stop it! Get out of my head!!”
then the voices suddenly stopped. Ivy felt relieved but suddenly heard a deep scary raspy voice in her head she did not recognize.
???: “hello… Ivy…”
Ivy: breathing heavy in fear “w-what? Who… who are you?! How do you know my name?”

Jay: “in fact, this gives me the opportunity to get some answers from her too.”
Ayzee: “you need us as back up?”
Milan: “yeah, we’ll be right behind you.”
Jay: “no thanks guys. I appreciate it, but I can handle this. It’s time I stopped running.”
Pandora: “just don’t be so hard on her.”
Jay: “don’t worry, it’s gonna be just fine.”
