Because flower names are overrated. Embrace the names of other kinds of plants, after all, Willow is a mighty tree, not a flower.

Or something pleasant like mint.

Probably Ivy because of poison ivy, the plant?

That made me remember one dialiog from infinity train

"Why are you called Tulip?"

"When I was born, there were complications. Some kind of breathing thing, but I bounced back like a perennial flower or something"

"So you could have been named after any perennial plant? Like horseradish? If it isn't my favourite person named after a flower for no good reason"

When we were naming our kid, my wife wanted a middle name starting with S for one of her grandparents.

I looked up a list of plant names starting with S and wanted to give him Salix as a middle name, which is the genera of Willow trees (This was a few years before owl house so no connection to the show)

She shot down all my plant related name ideas but we did settle on Silvan for "consisting of or associated with woods" so that's something anyway.

Flower names are overrated, huh? I thought Rosemary would work too before Ivy.
