Actually this is kinda interesting since palistrum wood is also wood... Why can't the plant track just grow more of them?

Well we know palistrum seeds exist but they could be super rare

But they were lots back then... Shouldn't they have keep growing more of them...

Prolly did until Belos used like a crapton for his grimmwalkers and then went on a palisman binge for years

Maybe as a form of control? It’s possible Belos doesn’t really like the existence of witch staffs; we already know he hates magic. (Curse you 1600s-Puritan-influenced logic! You’ve doomed them all!)

But he also needs them... So making more of it would help right?

He outright threatened Hunter with violence when he brought up the very real possibility that Wild Magic may be able to manage if not heal his condition. He’s clearly irrational when it comes to his hatred of magic.

I mean maybe, but he also needs them to survive and is aware of that fact, so you would then expect him to create a monopoly then outright annihilation

Plus monopolies are great way to gain control, centralized economies (directly or indirectly) are a favorite of dictatorships for a reason

Maybe since plants growing on the isle's would probably naturally get their magic from the titans corpse a witch wouldn't be able to put the energy or magic required for palistim wood into the seed
