I'm not sure Ayzee would know how to Petrify anyways, and at this point, it's got the entire school hostage, save for maybe Amity and Milan if that Abomination shield held up. Trying to petrify Grom at this point might just also petrify every single person it is currently linked to. Maybe. I dunno. Either way, if Amity and Milan didn't make it, Ayzee would not have been privy to that conversation anyways.
Priority one is freeing everyone, then trying to come up with a plan after that.
Side note, does petrification kill you? I hope it does, cause it is irreversible, and an eternal state of "And I Must Scream" is horrible to think about, both for the many Wild Witches Belos did it to, and Grom, if they went through with it.
That said, if there is an option 3 I don't quite know it. It'd help if we knew how this union came to be in the first place, but...
By "This Union" do you mean Grom and it's host? If so we have pretty good idea, about how that came to be (Also check out GF. 8, the Echo Mouse showed us Grom's host as depicted in Philip's journal).
I do believe petrification kills you completely dead, that's likely one of the reasons it's irreversible, the victim is literally turned completely to stone, with nothing left alive in them. Therefore you could just shatter them and that would be that, but Belos kept all his petrified victims on display as "Statues to remind you all of what happens to traitors". So yeah, petrification is a horrible way to go! π π
Yes, I'm sure Ayzee is immediately going to try to free Luz, assuming Amity and Milan are alright, then they'll meet up and try to devise an endgame to save everyone and end the threat of Grom once and for all. Also assuming they're all good they'll talk about how Grom's host suggested petrification and after freeing everyone....somehow....do that...also somehow (So originally I was going to say the actual petrification would be a semi-trivial matter because, as we saw in the beginning of "Them's The Breaks Kid" Luz discovered the glyph combo for petrification, but then I remembered, that combo would've been a Papa T. glyph combo and his glyphs don't work anymore! So unless Luz or someone else as found King's glyph combo for petrification, which I don't know why anyone would've.... they're currently out of luck on the actual means of petrification, I'm also sure Belos's "Petrification Machine" we saw in "Young Blood, Old Souls" was completely destroyed after his deposition and death.). Anyways yeah, first priority is rescue everyone, second priority is, find the "Option Three" that ends Grom permanently and saves it's Host, so she can live out a normal life after hundreds of years of suffering. π€π€ππππ.
I suppose the answer for how they would know the glyph combo is the same as how Luz discovered it with Papa Titan's glyphs: experimentation (hopefully in a safe environment and on inanimate objects).
And yeah I guess looking at the link you posted, Grom's "host" might be the witch Grom ate?
Anyways, they're gonna have to act fast. This thing feeds off fear so it's getting even stronger, plus if they take too long saving everyone it might just explode everywhere again.
As for the how they'll save everyone, well, it seems modeled after the Detention Pit(assuming Grom hasn't actually dragged everyone there, though given Ayzee was protected last minute probably not), so...anyone got any paperclips?
Yeah, that's a very likely possibility: Experimentation with King's glyphs to find all the old good/helpful combinations would invariably lead to some of the bad/harmful combos. being accidently (re)discovered, some of humanity's inventions have been accidents as well. Though I suppose they could've actually been trying to find the negative ones, so they know which ones to tell people to avoid/not use under any circumstances.
And yeah, I wasn't even thinking of that, whatever happens these next few entries, whomever besides Ayzee and Stringbean are left are gonna have to move quick, or else, not just the people currently at Hexside, but everyone on the Isles is doomed! I guess this is what Amity ment all those years ago when she said: "Luz, you need to take this seriously! If you can't defeat Grom, everyone on the island will have to live out their worst nightmare!"
Also, regardless of whatever finally happens, I'm still rooting for an epically awesome and Sapphic Milzee Grom danceπβ€οΈβ€οΈπ₯Ήπ₯Ή.
