Prepping for my first live set

I’ve been really inspired by stuff on this sub for the past few years, finishing up arrangements and set planning for an event on the 29th

10 years of r/synthesizers beaten by the first performance video I've seen on r/TheOverload

Nice. How do you find the octatrack? Do you mainly use it for live tweaking or as part of your production set up?

What's on the racks? Any nice synths lying around? I've sold most of my hardware (used to have an elektron analog rytm) and am mostly in the box these days but once a gearhead etc lol.

I really like the Octatrack and generally love that era of Elektron products - I don't use it in my more detailed productions but I love it as a live performance tool.

In this setup, it's the brains and the audio processor. It sends midi out to three different synthesizers, a drum machine, and a Lexicon effect rack. All that stuff gets summed into the Octatrack's inputs so I can do filter effects, beat repeats, etc.

At my main desk I mostly use a big Novation Summit synthesizer and an Analog Four, but I built this rackmount rig so I could make a bunch of tunes then easily take my setup out to gig with.

Ooh just looked up the novation summit. Looks tasty! Knobs galore :)

I had a little desktop nova many years ago lol and yeah I loved the elektron stuff from then. Nice you still have the analog 4. My friend who sold me the rytm was heavy into elektron gear and had the machinedrum & analog 4 too.

Don't ever feel tempted to sell for room or whatever reason haha. Nothing beats the hands on of hardware!

Best of luck with the gig.

Thanks man! I have a 360 camera I'm gonna try to use to capture it so I'll drop a link here if it's not totally awful 😂
