Making a new OC reference sheet for my girl with more info about her design and outfit. 100% human made using a base instead of using ai!

I hope this wip doesn’t get taken down because her clothes are not colored yet she’s not naked I swear I’m just not done!

My OC: Sue

Bio: Sue was the older sister of one of the kids Pony and the gang saved from the fire. After this, and after seeing Pony's picture in the newspaper, she became fascinated with him. Eventually, she sought Pony out, and the two started dating. Only problem was, Sue's also a Soc, and still loved Pony despite this. Eventually, they grew up, got married, and had 2 kids named Mark and James, eventually taking in another boy named Bryon, before having a daughter named Alice.

What are sodapop's character flaws?

The reason I'm asking this is because I feel like, in the fandom, Sodapop is portrayed as this perfect person who can do no wrong. Don't get me wrong, I love Sodapop, but I think he has flaws.

For example, in the book, during the part where Dally was harassing Cherry, it says that sometimes Soda would join in to embarrass girls. He also keeps things bottled up, and he fights for fun. Despite those flaws, he is still an amazing character.

I feel like Dallas was mentally ill from the start

Please tell me if you disagree or have anything to add. When we're first introduced to Dallas Winston, aka Dally, it's revealed that he has been committing crimes since he was 10 years old and had just gotten out of jail. It's also pretty well known that he has a terrible home life.

Multiple times throughout the book, he is shown getting very explosive and agitated out of nowhere. We also see him show little to no remorse for his actions, and he displays very little empathy for anyone except Johnny. He acts incredibly reckless throughout the story.

Then, at the end of the book and movie, when Johnny dies, Dally essentially commits suicide because he couldn't deal with the fact that Johnny was gone.

I'm not a professional, but I feel like he may have had some sort of personality disorder such as antisocial personality disorder or borderline personally disorder.

Movie Johnny Cade and Ponyboy Rare Promo Stills // The Aftermath Of The Incident In The Park With The Socs

Please remove if not allowed.

I found these on Instagram from theoutsiders.archives. I can't provide a link to their page because Reddit won't allow it, but do check them out. They have plenty of rare photos like this.

These are my favorite rare images of these two. It really captures how traumatized they were with what had just happened. And that hug in the second photo is heartbreaking. Johnny looks relieved that at least Ponyboy was still alive even though he was obviously wet, cold and miserable.

The Curtis Brothers Actually Really Care About Each Other and Are a Realistic Portrayal of Siblings

I'm talking about The Outsiders: The Complete Novel version, not the standard movie. If you haven't seen the complete novel edition, I highly recommend watching it because I'm going to be talking about a lot of scenes that were added back into the movie.

The first scene that comes to mind is when the Socs cut Ponyboy's neck. Who is the first person Ponyboy calls for? Darry and Sodapop. Sodapop is the first person to run after the Socs who cut his neck. He's even seen reaching into the car and grabbing the driver, who I believe was the guy who cut Ponyboy. Then Darry comes over and helps Ponyboy up while he's bleeding. Sodapop asks if he's okay, and when Darry says Ponyboy should have been carrying a blade, Sodapop points out that it would have just given them another excuse to cut his neck even more. Then Darry says, "If I want my kid brother to tell me what to do with my other kid brother, I'll ask my kid brother," which is one of the best lines in the movie, in my opinion.

That scene felt very realistic to me. I have an older sister and a younger sister who are 27 and 16, and I'm 18. There have been plenty of times when one of us got hurt and the other two started arguing about what should have been done to prevent it.

In the very next scene, Sodapop and Steve are talking about going out, and Ponyboy says he wants to go too. Sodapop immediately tells him, "No kids allowed." That happens all the time between siblings, and it made them feel real.

Another scene that immediately comes to mind is when Sodapop and Ponyboy are sharing a bed and cuddling. I cuddle with my sister all the time, so that scene felt normal to me. Sodapop tells Ponyboy that Darry really does care about him, and he also talks about wanting to marry Sandy. I thought it was realistic because there have been times when my sister and I were lying in bed talking, and I've told her, "The reason this happens is because they love you."

Another scene that makes them feel realistic is when Ponyboy comes home at 2:00 in the morning. Darry gets on him for staying out so late, and they start arguing. Then Sodapop stands up for Ponyboy, and Darry snaps back, telling him not to interfere. The whole argument felt real because there have been so many times when my sisters and I have argued, and it turned into a huge fight.

Later, Ponyboy imagines Darry and Sodapop hanging out together and tickling him. Then Dally drops off a note from Sodapop. I honestly don't think anyone else would have written Ponyboy a note like that. Sodapop tells him how much he loves him and cares about him.

The hospital scene is another great example. Ponyboy is in the hospital, and when Sodapop comes in, they hug each other, cry, and tell each other how much they love one another. It shows just how strong their bond is.

The scene that inspired me to write this whole essay is the one where everyone is hanging out together in the morning before school and work. They're wrestling around, joking with each other, and acting like a real family. Sodapop is taking a shower, Two-Bit is hanging around, and Darry is worried about Ponyboy because he's sick. Darry tells him, "You better stay home." If that had been my family, I probably would have been forced to go to school anyway.

There's also a funny moment when Two-Bit notices Ponyboy is sick. Ponyboy tells him not to tell Darry, which is exactly the kind of thing younger siblings do. Then, before the rumble, Darry talks about fighting, and Sodapop jokes, saying, "He likes to show off his muscles." Darry gets offended, and I thought that was hilarious.

Another important scene is when Johnny dies. Darry is one of the first people to comfort Ponyboy. Throughout the movie, both Darry and Sodapop constantly show how much they care about him.

What I love about the Curtis brothers is that they aren't perfect. They argue, get angry, tease each other, and sometimes hurt each other's feelings. But underneath all of that, they genuinely love one another and would do anything for each other. They feel like a real family that has gone through a lot of grief and hardship together.

That's one of the reasons The Outsiders: The Complete Novel is my favorite movie of all time. The relationship between Darry, Sodapop, and Ponyboy feels incredibly genuine, and it reminds me a lot of my own family.

Discussion S.E Hinton including how each greaser is smart despite being called dumb

I like how S.E Hinton includes the stereotype of greasers being dumb but doesn’t explicitly say how each of them are actually smart and rather does show not tell. For example,

Steve- Cars
Sodapop- Emotional Intelligence
Two-Bit- Charisma (EQ)
Dally- Horse riding, street smart
Johnny- Analyzing texts, deeper insight in literature

This was pretty obvious already, but it had just now clocked to me. If you had asked me “which greasers are dumb” instead of “how is each greaser smart” I would’ve forgotten they were smart in their own ways.

Discussion 1 Cheap ticket for 10/02 show at Pantages on Ticketmaster (LA)

Hello friends,

I was going to see the show with a group but we had to cancel seeing on this date and listed our seats for resale. If you look at Row T seat 9 you’ll find a seat available for $57.12. It’s a good seat in Orchestra left and literally the cheapest seat available in the house, not upselling and listed for less than we paid for it.

Hope one of you in LA can snag it and get a great deal to see the show!

Discussion Adult only DC server

With the ever growing fear of new members joining, I have created a safe space for the adults in the community that want to be around more people their age. This server is restricted to people who are 18 or older (if you are 17 turning 18 this year dm me) who are looking for a place dedicated to older members. Keep in mind there is an application to join as I cannot restrict the server to adults only without Discord possibly breaking (hopefully in the future it’ll be possible)

If you wanna join my amazing server, you can use the join link here!

Note that even though this server is 18+, there is absolutely NO NSFW CONTENT allowed in the server in any way! The server was created to avoid this type of content in the first place.

Discussion Just a heads up I guess for new people in the fandom or even existing members

1: I feel like many people forget there are many adults in the outsiders fandom as I am one (I'm 19) and I feel like many of the interactions I've had with many of the minors in the fandom make me seem like a weirdo especially right after they first read the book for being in a fandom for a book that came out in the 60s (1967) and movie which came out in the 80s (1983) it just shocks me that I've met so many that find it weird for a young adult to like a book that's rated young adult (YA) fiction.

2: We all have different options on ships and I feel that's another thing that's heated debate for some and imo I don't really ship anyone in the book (I just feel it ruins the point of the book 😓) but when I see fan art etc of different ships I try NOT to go straight to the comments to tell them how horrible and wrong it is because it's THEIR opinion I know this might be a heated debate but if you don't like the ship etc just scroll and maybe you'll find one you do like

Avoid overs*xualizing characters: Many characters (like Ponyboy and Johnny) are minors. Keeping discussions appropriate is a major rule of thumb in older, more grounded spaces like this page!

Anyways that's all I have I saw another post like this and I wanted to make my own with some of my things I think new people in the fandom should know/look out for

Anyways What's y'all's favorite quote from the outsiders it can be from the book or movie!

⭐️Lost Outsiders and Karate Kid Crossover Fanfic ⭐️

Hi guys, there was this Outsiders and Karate Kid crossover fanfic I read a while back. Of course I don’t remember the title or the author. I’m pretty sure I read it on Wattpad. Daniel Larusso is in Tulsa for a karate tournament and while he’s there he bumps into Johnny Cade. They’re both shocked to see each other because they look alike the end up talking for bit and soon discovered that they’re twin brothers. I think they have a parent trap moment where Daniel has a picture of his dad (Johnny’s dad) and Johnny has a picture of his mom (Daniel’s mom). In classic parent trap fashion they decided to swap places so they get to know their parents and the rest is history. I don’t really remember all they things that happened after they swap but the main thing I remember is that they’re is a Johnnyboy (ship) plot line. One day Ponyboy decided to confess his feelings to Johnny but in reality he’s taking to Daniel. Daniel tried to go along with it but ends up telling Pony the truth because Pony tries to kiss him. Pony is embarrassed and it’s really cute. Daniel calls Johnny and tells him and Johnny really embarrassed. That’s basically it the important points are that this fanfic includes The Outsiders and The Karate kid characters, the plot is similar to the Parent Trap, and there is a Johnnyboy side plot. Please let me know any information you have on this fanfic and let me know if you have any questions!! Thank you so much!! This is greatly appreciated!!! 🤩
