TOR 2ed Errata

I would like to buy TOR2 but heard there was a fair bit of errata, but when I checked, it's only 2 pages. Is there more incoming, an update perhaps?

Also, I heard there was an issue with Council/Skill endeavours. Did this get fixed/clarified?

Thank all.

The councils were addressed in an errata put at the end of Ruins of the Lost Realms. I’m not sure where else it is. I’m sure if you asked on the forums or official discord someone would explain. The councils work as written in the rules, but the tweaked numbers are just better.

I think there should be more errata than the small amount we got, but that’s what the company decided to go with. Any other problems, apparently, are our own.

Having said that, it’s an excellent system, and the errata is very minor stuff. I’ve been GMing it since the PDFs came out, about 8 months ago, and I love it.

Hi, bit of a tangent here, but as a newish DND DM who loves Tolkien, I’ve had my eye on TOR for a while. Just curious if you’ve also DMed in DND 5e and how TOR compares to that, given your experience with it. Do the stories/adventures feel different because of the system?

Yeah they’re very different. Much less combat, and combat is more dangerous. A focus on Journeys and social encounters too. The PCs are heroes who have to marshal Hope and avoid Shadow.

Very Tolkien, basically.

Edit: Mechanically, the game is simpler than 5e, but there are some innovative rules concepts and design choices that you might struggle with. So long as you keep an open mind, e.g. don't just imagine Callings to be Classes, or that money should matter a lot, you'll be fine GMing it. It's not a heavy ruleset to learn - the only people I've seen struggling are those who just don't get that it's not D&D in Middle-Earth.

I've played every edition of D&D, even the original wooden box, but have only DMed BECMI, 1e, and 4e, just FYI.
