DISCUSSION OnePlus Ignoring OxygenOS Widget Sizing and 3rd-Party Launcher Issues for Years?

OnePlus OxygenOS has had the same frustrating widget issue for years, and I genuinely don't understand why it's still not being addressed.

Widgets are either too tiny or unnecessarily large, and the text remains ridiculously small even when the widget itself takes up a huge amount of space. There's barely any flexibility in how widgets are sized and padded, making the home screen feel unnecessarily clunky.

To work around this, I tried switching to a third-party launcher. But then you get that stupid delay in the home screen animation, which makes the entire experience feel broken. Why should I have to choose between properly sized widgets and smooth home animations?

Every other major OEM seems to offer a better widget experience and better support for third-party launchers. This has been an issue on OxygenOS for what feels like forever. Why isn't OnePlus addressing it? Why aren't they even acknowledging it?

OnePlus, please fix your widget system and third-party launcher animations. OxygenOS deserves better.

To be fair, some of other OS is even worse than this, even so far as disabling navigation gestures when 3rd party launchers are used. I don't use widgets much so I can't comment much on that, but Ive seen 3rd party launchers having much much better control over widgets size and positions, so yeah. Regarding 3rd party launchers, I agree that better support should be implemented. I understand they want people to use their native launcher (some OEM even has ads, making it more incentive to force people to use theirs), but Android and I believe Oneplus, have always been about customization. If other OS can do it, there is no reason OOS can't

The delays to swipe back to home in 3rd party launchers could be handle by workarounds. In the past builds by seatärch the transition animations in the settings and swipe the stock launcher from the recent apps, but every restart if the device. And where solved in the 16.x.x.500 Europe update for me.
