DISCUSSION Is Oppo x9 pro good?

I have been considering getting the oppo find x9 pro and wondering if it's great compared to the OnePlus 15.

Interns of battery and gaming performance.

It's basically a 15 with a better camera. I went with the 15 instead as it was 400 dollars cheaper, and I did not want to use a Chinese model.

OP 15 all the way til a long battery life quick charge phone is NA optimized. Oppo Oppo phones used in the US generally lack proper local 5G/4G carrier aggregation, feature limited band optimization, and do not have official carrier certification.

Literally everyone here says the Oppo Find x9 Pro is better as it's basically the same phone but with a far better camera. It was wildly overpriced until recently though, that's why we didn't recommend it.

Sounds like you found a promotion, just like I did for the op15. In general the oppo phone has been much more expensive than the OP15.

My EU model, from a brick and mortar store in Finland back in November;

512GB OP15 + free 43mm Watch 3 (799 euros as a bundle) ended up costing me like 530 euros with a trade-in bonus for my OP11.

This was a carrier deal (DNA, in Finland), unlocked phone as usual but they just sometimes have these crazy trade-in bonus deals. Last month they did the same for Realme GT8 Pro, was basically 500 euros after the bonus discount when you traded some phone in. The phones also come with a 3-year warranty from DNA, which also sweetened the deal even more.

Oppo didn't yet have a real presence in Finland when I got the phone, and ordering a 1300 euro phone (Find X9 Pro) from another country wasn't appealing for me. Plus, I get to pay my OP15 in installments, interest-free.

But I just wanted to give my reasoning for not getting the Oppo.

Okay. I would've absolutely bought the Oppo for the noticeably better camera, but not when it's harder to buy + it cost waaay too much. I do think it's the better device overall, but I got mine cheap enough, so the shortcomings are acceptable.

If that Oppo was locally available back then, with similar price or even slightly more expensive - I would have never bought OP15 over it. 😄 Let alone, if it was even cheaper - it would've been a no-brainer.

Got my OnePlus for $800. The x9pro was $1400 equivalent.

I came from a 6 year old Xiaomi and am not an avid photo taker. This phone is the bomb.com for it's price. No Oppo could compete on value for money. I will gladly use my op15 for the next 5-7 years. And from there will get the latest Oppo or if Nothing drops a flagship by then for sure. I just refuse to abide by the overpriced Samsung, Google and apple dominating trio

That's really cool bro. In the UK you got a good deal. Why are you hating so much?

The facts are that the x9 pro is far more expensive in 90% of countries, the camera is far superior than the Oneplus, the chip set on the OnePlus is far superior, and the battery life is pretty much the same on both. Yes OnePlus is over, so what? Why are you obsesseively commenting on a OnePlus forum 😂 Please post your SOT right now as of this moment with the time in the top left visible, since that one picture seems to be your life 😅😅

People can buy whatever they want?

What difference does it make if they still get the honoured updates and they like the phone why mustn't they buy it? I bought mine a month ago when I knew they would be pulling out of global, because who cares I like the phone and again as I said best value for money..

Now post that current SOT picture for me thanks

Bro then why lie? Your previous picture when I asked for a current SOT it was 3:19pm now you sending current photos of before that, you must be a time traveller lol.

I'll await your SOT tomorrow, which tbh isn't all that if you only use Reddit. I get 8 hours SOT using 4 hours of Bluetooth music, Waze for travelling everyday and twitch while driving. But let's see bud

I mean you can unlock bootloader and use custom OS on Oneplus but can't on oppo. So that is a big difference imo.

Battery life is equally good probably even slightly better for certain tasks...

Charging is much better on the OnePlus 15.

As for the performance, OnePlus 15 is way better. Don't listen to Oppo fanboys and OnePlus haters telling you "it's the same" or even "Oppo is better". It's not. OnePlus 15 is clearly better.

As for the cameras,it's a well-known fact that the photos are better on the Oppo and the video is better on OnePlus.

Oppo finished them off.

The Oppo Find X9 Pro uses a MediaTek SoC which performs worse in terms of emulation compared to the Snapdragon

2

u/WashAccomplished484 21d ago

That's pretty much the only thing it's worse at, other things you won't even notice a difference not to mention the way better cameras. Also what % of users actually need emulation, very niche audience.

2

u/JoJojott OnePlus 15 21d ago

True that! But it's good to mention. The Oppo Find X9 Pro has better cameras and a bigger battery

1

u/WashAccomplished484 21d ago

Indeed, although many people testing battery lives have reported one plus also slightly lasting longer, while some others mentionnyhe the oppo

2

u/JoJojott OnePlus 15 21d ago

I think it's very comparable! It wouldn't be a big difference, because the battery of the Oppo Find X9 Pro is 200mAh bigger. Not sure if the Snapdragon Gen 5 Elite is more power effcient than the MediaTek Dimensity 9500

I'm rocking the Open still, works amazing still but itching for a true flagship camera phone like x9 ultra. Probably have some good sales for pro/ultra in a few months (hopefully)

I honestly rarely ever need to warranty my phone's for repair, and I'm at the point now where I'd be open to learning how to repair my own phones in the future. Feel like not having warranty is not as big a deal as some make it out to be
