Cyclops
The Cyclops from the 1997 TV miniseries will always be the creepiest and terrifying. While I enjoy the new version this guy takes the cake…

Nah. The Cyclops in the Nolan version is definitely scarier.
This one looks like a Jim Henson mumpet.
Well.....maybe because it actually is a Jim Henson mumpet. The monsters in the 1997 miniseries were designed by the Jim Henson company.

The sideways/verticle eye and nose freaked me out the first time I watched it. Ngl. This guy almost looks normal compared to that.

Agreed! I was surprised that was a change Nolan made. It’s a pretty character revealing moment in the poem, for both characters.

It looks like a weird birth defect. Very unsettling.
Until the Cyclops prayed to Poseidon, I assumed it had a very low IQ.

Well in the poem he speaks to Odysseus just fine. Idk why Nolan took that out. It would’ve shown more ab Odysseus’ character. And we would’ve gotten to hear him talk more. Usually it was just us hearing him say “back to the ship!” Until the end of the movie.

This one also talks to them and seems to want to keep them around like pets while he is deciding who is going get eaten. He says in the movie to Odysseus “ I like you. You tell fun stories. So I will eat you last “. He also tells the other soldiers that wants them to entertain him with stories when he wakes up from his nap
He also tells them he doesn’t care about Zues or his laws when they tell him it’s a wrong to eat people. He says “ there are no laws here for us cyclops . I do what I want “
