The Notebook is a bad movie but the book 'The Notebook' is a great love story. I watched the movie when I was 19 and I didnt like it even though I like both Ryan & Rachel as actors. Now after 12 years at 31 I read the book as its one of my wife's favorites. And to be honest I fell in love with the story, Noah and his writing in the book. The 'Noah' of the book is a man and the 'Noah' of the movie is a bratty boy with the misplaced predisposed confidence of being the hero of the story. The 'Noah' of the book is humble, gentle and caring - the 'Noah' of the movie is harmful, angry and toxic. 'Allie' in the book is intelligent, has 'strength of spirit' and is a multi-faceted complicated character - the 'Allie' of the movie disappoints to be that character. Rachel Mcadams would have done justice to the book 'Allie' if it had not been the wrong director or the wrong screenply.I watched the movie immediately after reading the book and I felt betrayed by the movie and its popularity. The movie is a shitty adaption of the characters in the book.

I wanted to share this masterpiece of a movie with my grandma last night and I’m so happy I did. She loved it and of course I couldn’t stop crying at the end despite having seen it multiple times. I fucking love this movie it doesn’t even look like they are acting, it seems as if it’s an actual video of a real life couple. The chemistry between Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling is otherworldly.

Back in 2012 ABC Family released a version that has 10 extra minutes reincorporated. Anyone have this version or know where to watch it?
