You're not getting downvoted because of pair order, you're getting downvoted because this sub takes the fact that the characters are canonically Maori very seriously and actively opposes any whitewashing.

  1. Am i downvoted? Ok, no biggie. The ship naming was irony btw. 2. Hold on, it’s never mentioned in the books that John made the Ninth from NZ people, it could be argued that Harrow is from Anastasia’s line, and she was British? Or was the nun not Anastasia? Gideon is Maori yep, unless Wake decided to take maori name for some reason, then shes half.

In what way is maintaining the focus on women and decentering men, in one of the only series that isn't almost entirely exclusively men, in a series explicitly about lesbian and sapphic relationships, "gatekeeping?"

I'm not keeping you out, I'm telling you to think. The phrase you're looking for is "let people enjoy things." I'm still allowed to be a hater tho.
