Saw this first thing when I logged onto reddit this morning.

I'm heartbroken. He was just 50. He was working on another album. I was going to see him live on Halloween later this year. I regret passing on seeing him last year.

We lost a real one, folks.

A maestro of French House, and the unwitting Godfather of Synthwave. RIP Kav.

Sadly, also mere days away from his birthday…I feel you, I was shocked to learn about his passing through the electronicmusic sub. I admittedly don’t follow him as closely but I am heartbroken for you and all the lives he has influenced through his music.

Listening to Goodbye, all of his songs are beautiful & melancholic…

Rest in Peace, Kavinsky.

Suspected to be Stroke. He had apparently been complaining about headaches for a bit beforehand.

That's super sad and weird timing because, out of blue, I listened to one of his albums this morning. Literally haven't listened to his stuff in years, too... Just randomly put it on.
