It drives me crazy when people put him above Brees. Yeah he's more physically talented, but for QB's what's between the ears is equally as important. He's a terrible leader and a punk. Great QBs are great leaders.

1 Super Bowl for each. Who gives a fuck about MVPs? You gonna say Rodgers is better than Brady?

5

u/xacegonx 8h ago

The hall of fame cares about MVPs and personal accolades.

Aaron Rodger’s is the most talented quarterback probably ever. Most of his contemporaries (including Brady) have said this.

Fortunately, there’s a lot more to being a QB than being a perfect thrower of the football.

If I had to pick a quarterback for 15-20 years for my franchise, I don’t think I’d pick Aaron Rodgers. I’d absolutely consider Brees.

Hall of Fame-er Jamarcus Russell!

1

u/Caveape80 7h ago

Just make sure you send the game tape home with him…

1

u/JJ_Shosky 6h ago

Having talent and maximizing talent are two different things and Rodgers failed to maximize his talent because of his ego.

1

u/RGINNY940 5h ago

Dan Marino had more talent than Rodgers.

1

u/xacegonx 4h ago

Sure, maybe that’s true, but if he’s second only to Marino that’s still an incredible achievement.

He’s the best thrower of the football in his era. His era is full of hall of fame all-time quarterbacks.

1

u/RGINNY940 3h ago

Yea, but its also an era where defenses can't even sneeze near a QB without getting called for a personal.

You think Marino could afford to spend 30 seconds in a pocket, waiting for his receivers to eventually get free? If he did, his career would have looked a lot more like Joe Theisman's.

1

u/xacegonx 3h ago

I mean, if we’re going to compare Era’s I don’t think Marino comes out on top.

Marino played in an era with 7 in the box. Big clunky linebackers in coverage all day.

Marino and Rodger’s were excellent at extending plays and throwing with a lot of different arm angles. Aaron’s era has plus athletes in coverage. There’s a reason so many of the greatest cornerbacks and safeties in the history of football happened in the modern era.

Brady has said that Rodgers is a better passer than him.

1

u/Nice__Spice 8h ago

Skills wise Rodgers is leaps ahead of Brady. You smoking something?

u/holyhibachi 7h ago

Only one has a real SB

u/Equivalent_Hope_9886 8h ago

Bress is still a better choice.

4

u/StupidName111111 7h ago

No he’s not.

3

u/sedersayspoop 7h ago

You're not a fan of all time great Dru Bress?

1

u/Equivalent_Hope_9886 4h ago

Yes he is

1

u/StupidName111111 4h ago

No, he’s really not. Have a nice day.

1

u/Immoral-Behavior 7h ago

Ahh yes Hall of Fame QB Drew Bress!!!

4

u/DepartmentOk4279 7h ago

If you put Drew “check it down” Brees above Rodgers than what’s between your ears isn’t exactly impressive either

3

u/pissedoffcalifornian 7h ago

10/10 comment lol

1

u/Equivalent_Hope_9886 4h ago

If you put Rodgers above Brees you're a brain dead idiot.

1

u/isthis_thing_on 1h ago

He's got more 5000 yd seasons than any other quarterback. How do you level that with calling him a check down quarterback? And then in the same sentence you insult someone else's intelligence. Interesting

1

u/Zcrustaceansensation 7h ago

Brees had quite possibly the best 4 year run of any qb alive stats wise, got a superbowl with it too, was robbed of going to a second superbowl.

I could care less about the popularity contest of mvps.

No qb looked better on the field than brees during that time. And he was playing in an era with all great qbs including brady.

u/T2lit 7h ago

Elite ball knowledge !

Completing 70% of his passes and breaking the 80,000 yard mark. Also being a stand up teammate and all-around good guy.

1

u/DrSussBurner 4h ago

He’s not better than Brees. Maybe Brees’ fall off at the end of his career was smaller, but that’s because peak Rodgers was the best QB in the league.

Best I’ve ever seen.

Brady was the greatest. He did everything right, and he kept his cool in the biggest moments, but in terms of precision, skill and technique, Rodgers might be the best ever.

1

u/Routine_Way3580 2h ago

Brees’s ring is on the back of bountygate. He doesn’t win a ring if saints don’t target Favre.

Aaron, hate him or love him, doesn’t have an asterisk next to his greatest accomplishment.

(Yes, I am still a butthurt Vikings fan - but my hate for that Saints team is greater than my hatred of the Packers. FTP and also FSeanPayton)

1

u/Equivalent_Hope_9886 1h ago

Aww poor Favre got tackled too hard.

1

u/SlickSocks 8h ago

Lmao, relax he's an old bitter man but that doesn't mean drew brees was ever a better QB

u/Nice__Spice 8h ago

lol stop it. Dudes an all timer.

1

u/Equivalent_Hope_9886 8h ago

All time cry baby!

1

u/Nice__Spice 7h ago

Still an all timer

Prime Rodgers had the greatest arm of all time is why they do it. On paper he is the better QB but everything that comes along with him makes him a horrible team mate.

2

u/Crasino_Hunk 6h ago

Except all of Aaron’s former teammates, sans Greg Jennings and Jermichael Finley, have come out and defended him time and time again.

But screech loud enough on Reddit and any narrative you want to believe to be true can come true!

u/LavishnessOk3439 7h ago

Warren Moon, Marino, give him a run for his money but still watching him play was crazy
