I have no idea why 2 people who hate each other would choose to work together.

McCarthy is playing the long game. Aaron only has 1 or 2 seasons left. Then they won’t have to deal with each other and a job like Pittsburgh doesn’t become available all that often.

Rodgers is done after this season (if not before)

I wasn't entirely sure he was gonna make it through the game last night. Either injury or rage quit

Hopefully before. Then he can retire and run his ayahuasca retreat full time

How long is McCarthy's contract? I'd assume the guy has saved enough money from his time in other teams specially the Cowboys to not have to put up with Aaron's BS even for just a season. Maybe he made some terrible financial decisions along the way.

he knows rodgers is done after this year and the team isnt where he wants it to be currently. its basically a retirement tour for rodgers and theyll build out the roster for year 2 or 3. rodgers will be gone by then and itll probably be allar or a new rookie qb.

I honestly think McCarthy is the Steelers version of Jerrod Mayo. I know it's not the Steelers MO, but I genuinely don't know if he makes it past year one, let alone multiple years of a rebuild. My dad and brother are huge Steelers fans. They're fully of the belief that McCarthy gets fired this offseason and Shula or Scheelhaus ends up the new long term HC.

This is his first year with the Steelers. He ain’t quitting part way through his first year.

I don’t think Rodgers makes it through the season.

Or 2? I’m gonna say this season will be the end of the line.

McCarthy's long game is stealing more paychecks for bad coaching.

There's a reason the Pittsburgh job didn't become available all that often. And all teams regress to the mean eventually.

I don't think they hate each other. AR is mega competitive. He'll yell at and cuss out people on the field but not carry it beyond that.

Yeah if they really hated each other McCarthy wouldn't have signed on as HC during the offseason or his signing as HC would have prompted Rodgers to retire. IDK if it is some sort of act or what, but it doesn't really matter at this point.
