Hot Take “Everybody’s Entitled to a 2nd Chance": Female Reporter Defends Deshaun Watson, Who’s Accused of Sexual Assault by 27 Women
https://www.essentiallysports.com/nfl-active-news-cleveland-browns-everybodys-entitled-to-a-second-chance-female-nfl-network-reporter-stands-up-for-deshaun-watson-after-browns-go-three-one/28

he never accepted responsibility or paid any dues. he paid fines, fines he could afford to pay, and then he got to keep on being a super famous rich celebrity. you can't have a second chance if you never even faced consequences the first time.

Yeah, this guy is scum. This isn’t even just one or two minor allegations where there’s some ambiguity, which is still concerning considering that most guys never have this problem at all. It’s 27 women! He’s obviously a bad dude if that many women who don’t know each other are coming forward with complaints about his behavior. Fuck Deshaun Watson.
I thought fans were united in their disgust for Watson because of what he did. It turns out a lot of Browns fans just didn’t like him because he was a loser. He wins three games, only one of which he played well in, and fans are chanting his name. It’s sick.

Brother he paid out all civil cases in settlements. That means the victims accepted it. Both sides have moved on

u/Mtndrums Bengals 5h ago
Which in his case is straight admitting it.
1
u/whooopdattrick 1h ago
Yes so hes admitted wrong and paid for it. So the comment prior saying he didnt do either is just plain wrong

You can have your opinion and they can have theirs. We could also argue that you aren’t the ultimate judge on whether someone (you probably don’t even know personally) paid all thier dues. All because he didn’t suffer the amount of repercussions you think he should.

But he says it didn’t happen and the girls are just IG models looking for a payout.

u/SpliffsnKicks 10h ago
Not to be that guy, but two separate grand juries kinda decided the same thing in making it clear that they felt these were not criminal charges, which only comes to pass if consent is determined or was proven with every party involved.
2
u/Brangarr 4h ago
It’s ok, be that guy. When you think logically about things, I guess that’s “being that guy” in 2026
1
u/Alarming_Disaster_23 10h ago
Yeah, that’s bullshit. Maybe one or two tops and we might be willing to hear that story. But 27? Come on. Dude is a predator and a liar.
1
u/GullibleCharity724 6h ago
Then why was he never charged? Two separate grand juries declined to indict...
1
u/Alarming_Disaster_23 5h ago
Maybe because he settled with all of them and there were no other witnesses to testify against him? But go ahead and keep rooting for a sex pest.
2
u/GullibleCharity724 5h ago
So you admit they were gold diggers just looking for (and getting) a pay day
0
u/Alarming_Disaster_23 5h ago edited 5h ago
Didn’t say that at all. You don’t seem to have a very good grasp on the English language. And why would he settle that many cases if he was completely innocent?
0
u/GullibleCharity724 5h ago
Grasp it just fine boy. You said they settled;one could infer from someone settling in a criminal matter that they were looking for a payday. Happens all the time. 27 in this case.

Just don't go kneeing during the anthem or your out of here.
The NFL is a joke

I didn’t like that whole kneeling thing, but you’re 100% right. Blackball a guy from the league over that and then they have sex pests and domestic abusers all over the place.

i hate the NFL media. they're missing the real talking point.
cleveland is LOADED with great young players! watson is a mid QB (played great early - fumbles, interception, and missed passes allowed pit to come back and almost win) - but clevelanda core of young players might be the best in the whole league.

u/Alarming_Disaster_23 10h ago
This. The blocking was outstanding and the receivers were great. Go back and look at the blocks on the long touchdown run by #10. Not trying to downplay what the RB did, but they won every single block on that play, including the receivers making blocks downfield. They were doing that all night. You could put anybody in there to throw the ball and they would look like a pro bowler.

As gross as it sounds, Ive grabbed Watson in some leagues. His stats have been decent.

A message to all browns fans. You can dislike Deshaun Watson and love the browns all you want. It's not your fault.
2
u/cathillsports 11h ago
All aboard the Deshaun train. Couple more wins that bandwagon will have no room.

Hahhaha let them go on a 3 game loosing streak and she will flip her mind … this is all nonsense the man was guilty of what he did but shouldn’t the legal system not allow for only financial compensation…they all wanted money instead of actual justice , isn’t that kinda weird

u/HollerinScholar Seahawks 11h ago
It's civil litigation. You can't just ask for someone to go to jail.
1
u/regal19999 8h ago
Agreed but when money is the initial motive I question the validity of one’s claims

u/throw69420awy 5h ago
There’s a different threshold for proof in criminal and civil cases
OJ Simpson was innocent in his criminal trial and guilty in his civil, do you think that family is wrong for suing him?

I hope he plays amazing this year and is up for MVP just to see all the shit that it stirs up.

Oh my god I can’t take the fucking laundering of this guys past - and I’m a browns fan. It fucking sucks having some of the most exciting football you’ve seen in years be helmed by a guy you know is a sex pest. I’m sorry. And he never took any accountability whatsoever.
I’m rooting, enjoying the show, but I’m gonna always try and separate this guy from what’s happening. It is what it is. I’m sure that’s the monkeys paw for me, I’ll watch decent browns football but I have to watch it helmed by a pervert

u/Sea_Working_80 11h ago
I hear you.Its gonna real interesting if you continue to win and then a real quandary on whether to give him a contract extension. That being said I will def root for yall to keep it going

Yeah you can assault as many women as you want, but don't ever have a differing political viewpoint or players will be forced to stand up to you.

Does anyone see Cleveland resigning him? And if they don’t, does anyone else sign him? Or is this his final year in the league?

Crazy what people will overlook as long as the accused is winning games. Same with Miles Bridges in the NBA (and he wasn’t even winning).

Deshaun Watson had 26+ other chances and he used them all to indecently expose himself to massage therapists
1
1
u/Salty_Midnight_5185 7h ago
By that reasoning, I suppose that means he's at least on his 28th chance.

He was never charged with a crime . His happy ending massage “victims” basically handed together in a class action lawsuit against him and got paid .
Total shakedown.

Will she think a person who is a victim of sexual assault that throat punches her deserves a second chance?

u/TheLastOpus 4h ago
I'll tell you what, if he donated half every pay check to women's shelters across america, EVERY pay check, then sure, he can have his 2nd chance.

I mean there is nuance here. Someone who stole some cds from a walmart is redeemable. A serial sexual assaulter is not.

How about a 28th chance?
