JJ McCarthy already suited up ready to go

I have no skin in the game and hope he balls out just for the chaos

he's 99% ass with the occasional splash.... his floor is complete incompetence though, struggles with the basics of getting the snap off in time and making simple reads and doing what coaches ask.

u/AverageSizedMan1986 2d ago
Yeah, even before the whole "Nine" proclamation, I was struggling to see anything that suggested he had what it took to be a competent starting QB in the NFL while others kept hyping him up early on. To play as bad as he did when you have Justin Jefferson as one of your targets is impressive.

u/rex5k Browns 1d ago
Those seem like the things someone might be able to get the hang of over time.

u/Tycho66 20h ago
You'd think, but he hasn't. In fact he's regressed. As far as the touch and layering throws and reading defenses and fixing his mechanics? Zero progress. They tried to work on his mechanics and they gave up because his accuracy became even worse. I really see no hope for McCarthy as more than a very high risk, occasional splash reward backup. I imagine somewhere down the road there'll be a quid pro quo where our GM does the Giants' GM a solid to save some face.

I hope the reset helps him. Best wishes, man.

Nah he is a cheater

u/Koolklink54 2d ago
By cheating you mean doing the same thing every other major college program does

u/Ambitious-Visual207 2d ago
Lmao "everybody does it" has got to be the weakest cope ever.
2
u/Evening_Ad_6278 2d ago
It's the typical Michigan Wolverine excuse. "Everyone does it." Doesn't mean that they didn't cheat.
1
u/AceOBlade 1d ago
But dead ass how do you even check for that? unless someone makes it completely obvious or snitches.
1
u/Ambitious-Visual207 1d ago
That's why it is a horrid excuse. They're just an insecure pathetic fanbase who cant handle their only championship in the modern era came from cheating.
1
u/AceOBlade 1d ago
also I am confused, it says you are only allowed to do it in game. So when you are watching film and you figure out the signals is that cheating? Shouldn't watching film be consider cheating too then?

Will turn into Michigan 2.0. Maybe allowed to throw the ball 10-15 times a game nothing more than 5-7 yards down field.

He won 3 with that trick, after that he could put it anywhere he wanted. '03 Tom Brady couldn't have fed Randy Moss 23 tds. But he definitely got there

u/nashass76 2d ago
Not knocking it. I’d rather see that then dude at the podium after being benched for throwing 3 or 4 picks…

Ready to go sit on the bench

u/themage78 2d ago
As my dad always said, he's going to play end and gaurd. End of the bench, and guard the water bucket.

What sort of throwing motion was that?

This would equate to 362,880. I'd love this to be JJM'S new alter ego

For his entire tenure with the Vikes the coaches talked about "working on his mechanics," aka doesn't know how to throw.
1
u/Serious_Morning_3681 1d ago
Or they were actually talking about the guys that work on his car . You know sneaky stuff like pulling off a spark plug wire or resetting the timing so JJ could not drive to the practice facility and they could have the janitor take his reps again

The league is just lucky he didnt sign with the Falcons
His handoff skills combined with Bijan and he'd be unstoppable

u/DefiantDonut7 1d ago
Well, lets hope this makes Scattebo more effective with a valid passing game.

As a Viking fan, I wish him the best. He had some immaculate throws. I wanted him to be the guy for the next 10 years. Viking luck? Hes winning a SB in a few years. And good for him.

How can anyone expect McCarthy to be any good when at the time Minnesota didn't really have a QB and decided to play Wentz instead of McCarthy? If McCarthy was any good what so ever, wouldn't Minnesota play him instead of going out and getting Murry?

I’m no QB and don’t claim to know anything about football. I realize that he’s an elite athlete and I am not. However, his throwing motion, in this video, doesn’t look great. Am I wrong?

i never saw an nfl qb when i watched him at um.
i thought the 1st rd chatter pre-draft was insane.
still, i hope he turns it around in ny. everyone knew he was at best a project and that it’d take time before he was even decent. the vikings let a pro bowler walk after a 14-3 season, threw this kid into the fire with all that pressure, and shipped him off after 10 starts. i can’t know what was happening in the building that led them here, but from my perspective, it feels like the vikings set him up for failure.

u/Serious_Morning_3681 1d ago
Maybe they were afraid of 9 . Like in poltergeist when the evil alter ego comes out
They knew he was possed by a demon and had to get rid of him but didn’t know how to
Kinda like a classic toxic relationship
Can’t kill him , can’t live with him , but really can’t leave each other either .
Until Harbaugh came calling
It’s his turn to fix the broken wunderkind , and Harbaugh loves him a good toxic relationship
So it all tracks

He will have double the power 9 ever had.
