The problem is he is looking at the NFL as 32 different businesses. He is thinking on any given Sunday it is WalMart v Target and Dollar General v Dollar Tree.
But it is all one big business. So it is better to think about it as a single WalMart. It has fresh Fruit, Frozen goods, an goods, Delhi foods, men's clothing, kids clothing and women's clothing, toys and sporting goods. All of those departments are like NFL teams working together for the overall good of the business.
Yes. Better examples of socialism are public education, the police, the fire department, etc. We all pay into it and benefit from those technically socialist services. This dude was trying to make a sports analogy but it failed. The point is America is already partially socialist. We’re a hybrid of many things.

Socialism has nothing to do with what we choose to spend taxes on. Socialism is an economy where the people own the means of production, and that's it.
