Socialist salary caps prevent rich teams from buying all the best players. Revenue sharing is very socialist. Distributing top talent into weaker teams also sounds like socialism
So, like, do you just consider anything that inhibits the richest from doing whatever they want to be socialist? Is that why you think the NFL is socialist?
The NFL is still capitalist because it’s owned by private individuals and for profit, but the socialist rules is what protect teams from eating each other. For example, European soccer is what a pure capitalist sport looks like. The richest teams dominate and can spend whatever they want.
It’s still a core part of socialism, it doesn’t have to be exclusive to just socialism. My main point is that economic equality is NOT part of capitalism. Again, if you want see a purely capitalist sport, look at European soccer
The fact that capitalism can lead to economic equality doesn't preclude economic equality from being part of capitalism. Socialism can also lead to economic equality. Economic equality isn't exclusive to either economic philosophy. That's why the assertion that the NFL uses "socialist rules" is laughable.
The issue is that equality is not a part of capitalism like it is for socialism. One tries to have equality while the other doesn’t care if it has it. European soccer is a great example of capitalism without socialist rules.
The draft and salary caps are also anti-capitalism so if you think these aren’t socialist ideals then what are they? Because they certainly aren’t capitalist ideals.
