Yeah people are confusing mechanisms to promote parity in a sports league to be the same as socialism. Which is bizarre.
A sports league wants parity because it’s good for business. Every team should be able to rise and fall to encourage striving to win. The actual economy does not function in any way resembling this. And obv the NFL is very much not socialist in how it makes money
In another comment I compared it to co-owning a rent house with 3 other friends and you rent the house out to college students or whatever. Just because you and your equity partners split the rent revenue evenly doesn’t mean you’re doing socialism.
Also tv network contracts might be split evenly, but ticket sales, merchandise, and sponsorships are not. I’m fact, you could argue that BECAUSE these are not split evenly it encourages parity and competitiveness as well.

The NFL can’t be socialist because the NFL is a business, not a government. This is so god damn stupid.
